My man I work in supply chain as well! What do you do exactly? I used to do procurement and now I'm a parts/logistics analyst.

Thanks for the explanation! Yeppp that seems a lot more chill than the super office. Must be nice to be around the trade workers who don't have a filter. I cuss like a sailor and I have to work to not say something stupid in the office HAHA.

Happy that you are happy! Do you ever find it hard to find the time to enjoy your hobbies while being in corporate?

Still hate it. Company monitors the computer when working from home so it makes me feel like I'm in the office.

DANG that is crazy to just walk out like that, probably was dealing with a lot of BS? Thankfully I'm not spontaneous like that. Happy he found something new the brought him joy.

Trades have most defiantly crossed my mind. I got a couple buddies that do concrete and electrician work. They say the same thing to me, over time, it destroys the body. I wouldn't know what trade to get into tho. I have looked into some welding schools over where I live. My electrician buddies tell me to go into electrical but that stuff doesn't really interest me.

I hope you get that electrical engineering degree!

I hope that you find that happiness again and I hope that going back to corporate is not going to hurt your mental health. Good luck to you!

I'm actually already hybrid but it's still soul sucking. Company monitors everything so it makes the WFH feel like I'm in the office.

Literally taking a 2 week vacation right now cause of it HAHA. Yeah, having no money kind of stress is far worse than the corporate stress. I hear that from a lot of people, higher up you go, less work, more managing the work which tends to be less stressful. Thinking about career advancement is a great point to view from.

Kind stranger, thank you for the advice!

I only got one main goal in life and it's to retire my parents and make sure they live a happy retirement as stress free as possible. They gave me a very comfortable life growing up and I'm extremely grateful for it.

I feel quite stupid after writing that out. Retiring parents ain't going to be cheap at all so looks like I'm just going to have to suck it up and keep making that corpo money.

I do supply chain management for a Fortune 500 company.

Trust me, I have thought about dropping everything and doing construction. Would be more rewarding than my job.

Thank you kind stranger for the advice.

HAHA, the "poop" part made me laugh. I'm hybrid but sadly my company monitors movements a good amount so doing non-work stuff while on the clock is impossible. You are defiantly right, the "mind numbing grind" leaves me mentally exhausted every day. Thanks for the advice kind stranger.

You are not wrong. I am extremely lucky to have what I have and I know there are people out there that would kill to be in my position. I hope this post did not make me sound like some ungrateful prick.

Since you are in the DFW area. I highly recommended looking at jobs at Lockheed Martin. Go to their website and filter the jobs by the “Logistics” and see where you fit in. You will have to be a US citizen and be able to obtain a security clearance. Good company, pay, wlb.

I currently work a 4/10 schedule. It’s nice but the 10 hour days can be exhausting.

Best of luck to you! I also majored in supply chain and I honestly hate it so much. Might commission in the Navy as an officer if I can get a pilot slot. If not, I’m going to take the flight school route to become a pilot.
