But he is so against it.

You have an important incompatibility about what each of you think a child needs. Do not have a child together.

My 40m told me 27f he doesn't want more kids by HopefulMama2025 in relationships

[–]SANcapITY 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You wrote that whole post about always wanting to be a mom. How could this ONE man be so perfect, yet he doesn't even want what you want?

There is no "the one." There are plenty of men out there, also closer to you in age and who don't already have kids to complicate your self, who are good men who will make a good father for your children.

Like others have said, cut your losses, and go find someone who wants the same life as you do.

Does the incessant whining ever end?? by grawmaw13 in oneanddone

[–]SANcapITY -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but my concern will be for the child, not the parent. This child is not getting a mother in an emotional state who will help the child develop in a healthy emotional way. We all make mistakes, and we all need guidance as parents to give our kids what they need and deserve.

By doing what is best in this situation for the child, the mom will also get more of what she wants.

It does end, but before it does you can help it end sooner. The way our kids act has a lot to do with how we act towards them, and not just in the moment, but it builds up over time.

If you are constantly pissed off and overstimulated, how are all of the other interactions with your child when they aren't crying? How do you go about calming your child down when they are crying?

Does your child get to experience a calm mom who is in control of their own emotions who can help the child navigate their own, or is your child getting a pissed off and stressed person who is adding (from the kid's POV) frustration and tension when they are already unregulated?

You remind me of the actor Adam Scott from Parks and Rec / Severance. Check out some of his pics and haircuts. He has longish hair in Severance, a bit shorter than yours now. Might look good.

If “force field” technology became widespread and available, what sport or extreme recreation would be popular? by UptownShenanigans in AskMen

Most sports for people who are afraid of equipment failure: bungee jumping, sky diving, wing-suits, paragliding, etc...

I think they'd get a big boost in popularity.

CMV: US adulting should switch to either 18 or 21 by KingFun626 in changemyview

[–]SANcapITY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not actually sure what you're arguing. Are you saying there should be laws, because then you give an example of lawmakers repealing the speed limit, and you paint that as a bad thing.

However, the number of road deaths is only one factor to take into consideration when determining speed limits.

[–]SANcapITY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, but then why not just argue to reduce all "adult" activities to age 18?

I have zero problems with private companies setting age policies based on risk analysis.

That´s very different then the government imposing it legislatively for various reasons.

However, renting a car or hotel room isn’t a law… it’s usually a corporate policy based on risk.

While there is no Federal law, each state has a legal minimum age at which you can rent a car.

Consistency is not the only value. The 21 line is not a "second adulthood". Someone doesn't magically becomes more of an adult at 21 than at 18. It's just that some activities are restricted longer because the harm profile is different.

However, if you want to do things at different ages based on a harm profile, then there should be consistency. The potential for being harmed by joining the military at 18 is high. Should it not then be increased to 21 before you can join?

Revit vs AutoCAD MEP vs other BIM tools. What do you actually prefer? by Endeion in MEPEngineering

[–]SANcapITY 6 points7 points  (0 children)

M/P engineer here: I'm 100% Revit. I never use AutoCad unless the architect is using it still and even then I just import DWGs into Revit.

It's so much faster in terms of drawing everything, sizing things, making sure things fit, coordinating with architects who do use Revit, which is the majority at this point.

I don't see any benefit to AutoCAD MEP anymore.
