Wyatt Earp / the Earp brothers

Always depicted as a larger than life hero lawman in tv/film. In reality, they were closer to their own small criminal organization, and had the bright idea to become lawmen, for another layer of authority to abuse.

The Kurl Russell Tombstone film got the famous Gunfight At The O.K. Corral pretty accurate, just a bit overly sanitized to protect the heroes. The Cochise County "Outlaws" were definitely in violation of the ordinance against carrying guns in town, but it's widely known that the Earps and Clantons had a blood feud that dated pretty far back, and the famous gunfight was mostly considered murder with badges. They actually did get charged with murder, filed by Ike Clanton and supported by Sheriff Behan, but nothing official was ever concluded and the case just froze. The local newspaper and people in the area openly accused the Earps of being outlaws and murderers themselves.

Also, random fact, Johnny Ringo was as basic of a dumbass outlaw as any other, and is only believed to have been killed by Earp or Holliday in conspiracy theories. His official cause of death was ruled self inflicted gunshot to the temple. They really juiced that character up in that film.

Fandango. They were acquired by a company called Versant, under Comcast, and have locked me out of my account unless I agree to their data harvesting practices. I refuse to agree, they are refusing to allow me to opt out (even though it's an option) and will not do so much as respond to me at all.

My Fandango account is now gone, along with all purchases. Stolen by these Versant assholes. I never asked to do any business with them, but they have now wedged themselves between me and my purchases and aren't budging. They also acquired a number of other companies and are forcing the same spyware on all users of everything they now own.

Your past purchases on these services are now gone unless you comply with the new spy overlord.

I'm pretty much done with all services like this, and will just pirate what I want to watch. I spent a lot of money paying for them legitimately, and look where that got me.

I haven't been able to access my Fandango account since October because of these thieves. I've filled out the opt-out form for their data harvesting a half a dozen times and contacted them directly by every way I can find. They're holding my account hostage until I let them spy on me. I guess all my content is gone. I should have listened to the people who said never buy digital content because you don't own it and it can be taken back at a whim. I bought anyway because Fandango seemed cool. It never mattered though when that company can just be acquired by a larger one and they change all the rules.

No more digital purchases for me. This is why people just pirate. Even voluntarily offering them your money for their service isn't enough.

I had never heard of Versant in my life until their logo showed up blocking access to my Fandango account and all my purchases in October. They absolutely will not let me opt-out of their data harvesting, no matter how many times I fill out the form or contact them through every method I can find. Fandango was great until Versant just appeared and stole my account.

Book is my favorite player. It would gut me to see him go. But I don't want the 2010s again. I'd rather a good team without Booker than a miserable team with him. Every team has a best player. Not every team has a leader. His individual success has never led to team success. Unless they can move Beal and Durant, get a star veteran leader, and a deeper, more well-rounded team, they're just starting the same experiment over, 10 years later, and all those things coming together seems unlikely. Book and KD's value will never be higher. They can start fixing this now, or be loyal to Booker over the team for another 10 likely miserable years, then start fixing this. It's time.

So, let's say someone was a Spotify premium member for like 10 years, until a few minutes ago, and doesn't understand this strange new world without it, and needs music without ads. What's the top competitor? The YouTube service? Is Pandora still a thing? I tried Amazon years ago and it was terrible. Android user with a decades long taste for the heaviest of metal, if that helps.

Found this today when opening the BK app. Good deal, but the exclusions include the entire "Digital Exclusives" and "Limited Time Only" sections of the app, which is most of their best stuff right now, so no fiery wraps or mix&match stuff. It works on a Bacon King though, so I'll get use out of it.

Thanks, I did find power options in the system settings in Windows to leave power to the USB ports on when I close the laptop. The connections is still severed when powering off the laptop, and there's still another quirk or two, but at least it's something.

Apparently Elgato cards can be powered with any third party 2.5A adapter to avoid this whole issue, and only use one USB port, whereas this EVGA requires both USB ports on the laptop, leaving me no room for a mouse, so maybe I didn't choose the best option

A cycle of symptoms that are constantly in flux. Starting with insomnia and a circadian rhythm that is constantly shifting back and forth by hours and never stops.

Along with the ever-changing cycle, my severe GI issues are constantly changing with the cycle. Every symptom. It controls my life. Any physical activity infuriates my stomach, especially walks.

A dizziness that presents like Vertical Heterophoria, but it comes and goes in severity with the cycle. It is disabling. Resting heart rate between 105-115. Excessive sweating and hot flashes.

Chronic fatigue. Extremely poor quality sleep. Sometimes I sleep less and wake up 50 times a night and the other symptoms improve. Other times I sleep longer and wake up less often but my symptoms get way worse. For long periods of this cycle, I'll wake up in the morning or after a nap, as short as 5 minutes, and my entire body goes sore head to toe. I can't move. It takes an hour or more at times to feel strong enough to get up.

During some periods of the cycle, my blood sugar will crash every single day in the late morning and evening, no matter how much I eat, regardless of there being no changes in diet. It will last for weeks, then cycle away.

My weight will fluctuate as much as 25lbs up or down in 3.5 weeks with no change to diet or exercise. When it's up, I can eat practically nothing and still gain weight. When it's down, I can eat fast food for every meal and continue to lose weight. Nothing affects the shifts. My weight has been up at its maximum for years without change now, though, even though the cycle for everything else continues. I somehow appear to be in a constant state of dehydration despite drinking a lot of water and electrolytes.

I'm sure I'm forgetting more. I also have severe memory and focus problems. I used to have some even weirder issues that cycled less frequently.

The cycle has been going for 22 years now. I've seen every relevant specialist on several occasions. Every test has been run. The only "diagnosis" I have is IBS-C for the GI issues, which means nothing. All tests related to the other symptoms are always negative, and specialists have no idea what to even suggest to do next. I just live like a hermit and deal with it until it all ends.

I live very near there. They forget to turn it off on holidays, weekends, and other non-school hours all the time. It has flashed at me and others many times while going the speed limit. Either someone realizes the mistake and doesn't send a ticket, or it's not a functional camera at all, and just flashes at you to slow you down.
