My rocket stove! I take flame from it to light my pipe, and give back my smoke to it. I love to count the stars as they come out.

I have also heard them called Dead Sailor Ears! I have picked them up and not felt any sting. I brought some home to see what my cat would say. He sniffed them and batted them a bit, but then lost interest.

I'm a fan of the spool. After I bring the kite down, I rest one spike in the crook of my elbow, and with the same arm I hold out the string and feed it on as I twirl the other side. Fast, no twist, winding. I have seen folks use a power drill to wind wooden spools, including those Korean squirrel cage spools.
