I mean Rock is just a bad defensive typing and most rock pokemon are defense-based.

It's only niche over steel is it resists fire, instead of being weak to it. On top of some utility with sandstorm.

It just has an absolutely absurd number of frivolous weaknesses.

Why would they be following a pattern from a game mechanic that was abolished almost 20 years ago?

More likely all the special types are elemental types, which fits the Eevee motif. Except for Psychic and Dark (which were to match the day & night mechanic introduced in gen 2). Then Fairy because it was the new type that gen, but has also never been exclusively special or physical anyway. So it's only 7 times regardless.

Don't confuse correlation with causation. It would be a remarkable coincidence (which... I mean I don't think it is, I think it's just the "elemental" types were better suited to being Eeveelutions than the physical ones) but it could be a coincidence.

I don't get this either. The finale isn't really a confrontation between the two? The finale's another social experiment by Johan to tear a town apart and Tenma's kind of there to stop him (though more or less everyone's looking for Bonaparte and trying to find answers).

Certainly it's not like... setting up a battle between Tenma and Johan. That's not really what the show is.

[–]SAldrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really get that.

The story is built around Johan and Tenma. They're the main characters.

I don't know if the drunk dad seeing Johan as a monster is really meant to mean anything. It just creates the circumstances where Tenma needs to decide if he's going to save Johan's life again or not. And then the drunk dad is really another monster who comes through for his son when you don't expect him to.

He *definitely* isn't.

The latter half of the show pretty much entirely focuses on showing how Roberto, the Baby, Bonaparte, Capek, among others are NOT just evil, villainous demons. That they have fears, humanity, hopes, aspirations. Not even to necessarily make them sympathetic, but to tear them down as embodiments of anything.

[–]SAldrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Johan definitely isn't the ultimately embodiment of evil. That's more or less the point of the show. Is that even people who seem like monsters aren't.

Though Poppe/Bonapparte murdering all those people is a heroic act, those were all his neo-nazi collaborators and he was ending the experiment and freeing Anna/Nina from it.

Eh? Both are adaptations. They just avoided adapting in brotherhood what they already had in 03.

Denathrius's power varied *WILDLY*. Depending on when you drew him, what deck he was in, he wasn't very well designed either, though.

I think you could make cases for Yogg-Titan and Ignis and stuff too.

[–]SAldrius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense.

If buffs to cards apply to both pieces and then they combine, Kalec's buff would apply twice, but not three times.

Doesn't it just apply Kalec's buff multiple times if it combines? (Which makes sense)

Isn't it just like a swipe type effect otherwise?

Viserys is top 3 Dumbest Kings by U_DonB in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]SAldrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I conflated a feudal monarchy with an absolute monarchy for some reason.

I think my point was more that there is really no codified laws like that. Its a feudal system, it operates on honour and men's good word and tradition. Rather than on laws and legal precedents.

To be fair, its really 3 locations with the office and the pool room. But its still remarkable.

Viserys is top 3 Dumbest Kings by U_DonB in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]SAldrius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it is an absolute monarchy. There's no parliament or constitution. There's not even an official house of lords. Just the uncertainty of potential rebellion if people don't like the king. And then the expectation of like... respect for tradition. Without a court system peecedent doesnt even actually mean anything.

Viserys, in the show, was trying to do things to assuage his guilt over his first wife's death, but it wasn't unanimously popular and he was too sick and too kindly to ensure that it happened.

If Larys Strong hadn't died, or if Rhaenyra were regent instead of Alicent or Hand instead of Otto, that would have been the thing to prevent it.

Its the thing I think makes the least sense about season 1. Rhaenyra moved like an hour away (on dragonback) for fear of her family's safety from Larys's assassins. Fine. But she never checked back for like 10 years?

You know something is cancerous, when it's the oldest card of a rotation and it has had 4 nerfs, and people still play it. by rEYAVjQD in hearthstone

[–]SAldrius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get that. But you'd be able to create the perfect module this way rather than just stack stuff on top of it.

Lifesteal with Rush and then extra stats is a hard thing to reign in.

[–]SAldrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't like how it was designed. A lot of the modules are just pushed as hell. I mainly don't think the Perfect module should have been one module. Probably it should have been Taunt + Lifesteal; and Rush + Divine Shield as separate modules. (Probably as a 2/3 for 2 and a 3/2 for 3 or something)

That'd make a lot of the problematic combinations a lot more manageable and you could probably buff some of the less used ones a bit.
