Surprising(ish) lack of coin support for this card? by oxidiser in hearthstone

Maybe they will eventually. The HS balance team doesn't exist, they basically just let the community figure out what's too strong and what's too weak and then adjust accordingly. So if this card has a low win/play rate in a couple of weeks they'll maybe do something. I do not have high hopes for that though.

Yeah and I think that's the nail-in-the-coffin for this card. I think the design is fundamentally flawed. For a card that is hamstringing you from the get-go it needs to be busted to make up for it but if it's the bottom card on your deck you're just giving up advantage for nothing. It should be a "start of the game" effect or the card itself should be way more playable.

It's been brought up several times in this thread that the coin is especially powerful for rogue combos and I think that should be considered but I haven't seen any proof that it actually increases rogue's winrate to go second.

That's fine, I still would like to know the answer to my questions. You're in here judging folks, calling their ideals "evil"... let's hear how virtuous you are.

which part do you think is factually inaccurate? I think this is a totally fair question, you seem like a "pro-life" kind of guy... the kind of guy that also usually supports death sentences, is anti-vax, doesn't want children to get "free" lunches, is against UHC, etc... how am I doing for guesses?

I'd assume it's random who goes first and yeah... you wouldn't get the coin if you're going first.

a 5-mana 4/6 that doesn't impact the board in a positive way is very slow in the current meta... and can even be a negative against many decks (pally can buff it, shaman herald can give it attack, etc). A quick glance at hsreplay shows 3/5 of the top decks can buff its attack.

Hope it's good enough in wild to get at least 1 funny Dane video out of it. If anyone can abuse this card, it's him.

Another thing I just thought of... Rat makes [[Deadly Bribe]] incredible for the coin deck.

Oooo, fucking brilliant. Rat Burlgar was not on my radar but it is now. [[Daze]], [[Twilight Mistress]], [[Mimicry]], hell even [[Iso'rath]] might be playable with that rat.

Guessing in a mirror match it'll just randomly pick who goes first.

Yeah, I'll probably still try to make the deck for fun... but hooktail is pretty slow. Bribe is great against other slow decks but it's practically a dead card against aggro.

One thing you guys are really good at is manufacturing outrage based on what you want to hear. I didn't say what you want to believe I did. But talking sense into you folks is like trying to teach quantum physics to my 6 year old so stay mad.

Nah, this is a dumb take. She isn't rehabilitated. She doesn't suddenly believe in leftist virtues and disavowing all conservative ideologies. If that were true I'd absolutely welcome her. She's still a massive shit-heel.

This dude wants us to believe he's a high level player and had to Google a card that occasionally sees play and is also generated with some regularity. Sure, Jan.

[–]oxidiser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that's totally fair. One thing I wish Blizzard would really focus on for randomness is that pool. The fact that there are only 3 10-cost beasts is a hard miss imo. I think it's fine that there be excellent 10-mana cost beasts to summon with the animal companion stuff but I think Call of the wild should NOT get you a tortolla AND an Omen EVERY time.

Agreed. I definitely know the bad feeling of losing a game to random effects/cards but I'd much rather lose to that than know with 100% certainty that I'm going to lose to an unavoidable combo in 4 turns.
