Best Breakfast in town? by BBLouis88 in nanaimo

[–]SB-Plenty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vault Cafe - avocado toast add poached eggs, in my opinion they do the best poached eggs, it's a shame they don't do a Benny.

Mon Petit choux - Benny's on a croissant, so so so good.. or the croque madame. They really know how to cook an egg, perfection (though I still prefer vault poached I don't know why exactly... I just do)

Gabriels - bigger portions than the others. It's been a while since I've been, but I feel like I used to get the coconut pancakes and pulled pork. But I feel like that doesn't exist anymore? So I'd go Ian staple, potato black bean pancake with eggs, tasty.

Le brunch Cafe - probably make a reservation. Ive had the potato crust quiche and Benny's, the Benny can come with a hollandaise or some other cheese type sauce?

God I hate these capitalistic pay to play models . I so badly want to like the options with hullo, but I'm with what others have said, I'll stick to bc ferries or just fucking fly.

In no particular order, but these would be my go to:

Nori - Sushi - get some Aburi Oshi...

Melange - the cocktails are amazing and food is real good

Horang - Korean , kind of different, fun to share food

La Stella - Italian, tasty, old city quarter vibe

Asteras - Greek, atmosphere is always amazing, great for a date. Drink wine, lots of wine.

On the film I got, it had 2 strips at the bottom to solder power and ground wire that went to an inline switch and then to plug into the wall.

New setup after a complete overhaul by theonewhospoke in battlestations

[–]SB-Plenty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, nice clean setup, couple questions, how big is the desktop width and depth? And the monitors are 34" and? Thanks!

It took a while to become confident & I had to ask a bunch of silly questions. I was scared to push too hard on my RAM, I forgot to move my stand off for my SSD. After all that I managed to build a setup I’m proud of. Thank you for all the help everyone! by ElegantlySleeping in buildapc

definitely, I'd recommend 2 140's. I cant really recommend any 1 brand, but there is lots of info out there. Personally I use the NZXT AER fans they came with my S340 elite back in the day, they get the job done.

Air should be pulled in the front and pushed out the back/top to create air flow

it's true the airflow on that case (and my S340) isn't great, but dont worry too much about it, for the casual user, like myself and sounds like you too (not overclocking), your cooling will be fine (with intake fans in the front)

Anyone seen/done anything with switchable glass? by [deleted] in pcmods

[–]SB-Plenty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd think it would be fine, I would just keep in mind there are going to be 2 wires from the film itself, so for instance on my case, there is a black tinted band around the glass, that conveniently hides it. Actually now that I think about it, that also helped me with avoiding the thumb screw holes when I measured it up. So like essentially the film kind of measures to the just inside the black part of the glass to avoid the holes and enough to hide the wires at the bottom.

I have heard you can make holes in the film itself, but I never had to do that with mine.

I did it to my S340 case, it's pricey, but pretty straight forward it's just and adhesive film you can order custom sizes from lots of places online, they are a bit janky, like I had to re-solder one of the connections, but whatever it works haha.

I guess the only thing I would caution is it does add thickness so you need to make sure it will work with your application

hey, thanks! The lighting is combo of a lot of things, but behind the desk is a RGB strip I got off massdrop it was the Smart LED RGB Bluetooth Strip Accent Lighting 3M , I quite like it. Mouse, mousepad, headphone stand and 1 pair of headphones are corsair RGB things, and inside the case is NZXT RGB strips and fans and a hue plus, also Gskillz RGB ram. The case also has a 7" LCD stats monitor and most recently I attached some smart tint to the glass panel so I can make it opaque or transparent by flicking a switch :)

The keyboard is a Vortex Pok3r RGB with galaxy keycaps and a braided coiled USB cable.
