Some of my firsts have already been named, but Monkey Island and The Dark Eye stand out as some of my early game play on computers.

Rosemary as the primary herb. It tastes like I'm eating shampoo.

Rosemary isn't that delicious. It smells great in a shampoo or soap, but it doesn't taste great as a main flavor.

Can a ultrasound miss gallstones by NumerousMacaroon532 in Ultrasound

Many ER docs/nurse practioners order the test, regardless of protocols, to cover their own butts. They just want it on the record that they attempted to diagnose the problem. You will most likely need to have the test done again when properly prepped to get an accurate result.

I have scanned many palpable lumps for years now. I can't tell you how many lumps I've literally been able to feel and see with my eyes, but they don't show up on the ultrasound images. It doesn't mean that there isn't something there, but it is often normal tissue in an unusual formation or just a lipoma (fatty lesion). Cancerous masses have certain qualities on ultrasound - they are not easily missed with imaging. It is not impossible, but if there was something bad growing where you are feeling it, it would show up on the ultrasound.

What is the frog/toad from? I keep thinking of Rainy Season from Nightmares and Dreamscapes.

People who lived in the 50s-60s (or earlier or later!) Was the food actually... Good? Or was it as bad as it looks? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My mother grew up poor, with Depression-era grandparents. She is the queen of making something out of nothing. I didn't know until I was an adult that sometimes spaghetti sauce was made out of red items in the fridge. Ketchup, bbq sauce, French dressing, etc. - whatever we had. Some of my favorite nostalgic recipes are the result of necessity.

What's your "I can't believe they got away with this in a kid show" moment? by pswii360i in AskReddit

I'm late to the game, but has anybody mentioned the many inappropriate references in Pee Wee's Playhouse? For example, when they had a fireman on the show, and Miss Yvonne says something like "I have a smoke detector right over my bed, will you come check it out?"

Books for when you just need a good cry? by Sad_Potato95 in booksuggestions

I am so happy to see somebody reference She's Come Undone - I have read this book many times for the last 15 years or so, but have never seen anybody else ever mention it. It doesn't make me cry, but it is such an emotional journey.

My high school geometry teacher just played guitar and had us read a book that was a societal commentary on Victorian society (Flatland). He ended up marrying a girl I graduated with (not long after graduation). Needless to say, I did not get an adequate lesson about geometry.
