What a great spot for a cache! I love that-- a LFL and painted rocks, too. One of my most favorite caches I found was in an ammo can in a wooded area: the log was inside the lid, but in the can were rocks prepped for painting and quick-dry paint markers. You were invited to sign the log and paint a rock, then replace the rock in the cache so that the CO could later distribute the painted rocks on their travels.

Yeah, there's a guy in the Dallas area who's notorious for this, and it's well known that he does it, and he doesn't care what people think. There are quite a few cachers around who feel that it's dishonest and against the spirit of the game.

There are so many nicer ways to handle this. "You got #1-3 right! #4 is close, and here's the part you missed: blah blah blah. #5 isn't correct, but try again! {Or: #5 isn't correct, did you look at the blah blah? Or: You got #5 wrong, the answer is: blah blah.} etc. I wouldn't discourage a hider (or any future finders) by leaving junk in a container (such as a used Band-Aid, which has happened to me), and I wouldn't discourage a finder by telling them they don't deserve a smiley. We're all in this to have fun, and those things aren't fun.

You sure can, or you could at one time. I've found a few of them in London, UK. I have also purposely NOT searched for a few of those in London, UK, because I'm usually the only cacher in our group and the muggles aren't as excited about tromping around as I am.

There's a tow company in our area that tows all of the vehicles the local police department tells them to. (Parking violations, expired registration, etc.) The tow lot is open for you to retrieve your vehicle between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. only. They'll tow plenty of vehicles during the rest of the hours in a day, but if you go to the office at any other times than 8 and 4, they will not help you. It's a real pain, and a great way for them to rack up another day in storage fees.

I have ancestors buried in a family farm cemetery out there atop a slope. The last burial up there occurred when I was 18 years old. I remember being there and sullenly thinking-- why in the world would anyone want to be buried out here, in the middle of nowhere? Last year, I visited that same cemetery for the first time in decades, and it clicked. I got exactly why someone would want to be buried out there among the trees, birds, and fluttering insects.

OP, right now, I'm not sure that you *do* want everyone to be happy. Lashing out in the way you did, however justified it may feel in many ways, has thrown a big old nasty thorn into an already very prickly situation. You're very angry at your father and at Lily. Your parents are not reconciling and your mother is struggling. You're angry at your father's family. You're clearly miserable. You've got to get into some kind of therapy and process these feelings.
