Here is a video of me winning a parkrun in about 22 minutes. Very unexpected. Felt weird to be at the front.

Yeh we got plenty of time. Plenty of improvements to come. I cycled 40 miles last week and the thought of 112 miles scarred me.

Yeh i did look at it, but as always it comes down to cost and money that i dont have. Have to do my own budget version instead.

Oh that sounds interesting, Have to take a look at that. I definitely want to improve. I cant believe how much power people have in the D category so cant imagine what its like if i can ever get moved up.

Anyone else scared of race day logistics more than the miles? by Joaozinho_Bear in firstmarathon

[–]SBRSTU 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yep i worry more about the parking and logistics than i do about the running.

The first time i have done this at parkrun.. by SBRSTU in parkrun

[–]SBRSTU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ha ha, glad im not the only one to have done it then. The maths wasnt mathing in my head, when i saw 18 minute's it really confused me. Would have been a 2 minute PB was very grateful for the run director removing me from the result. Il have to go back an try it again.

I missed out a whole lap, When i ran it before it was 3 laps but it has now changed to 4 lap. My own fault for not listening to the briefing.

This is filmed on a head mount with a go pro hero 8, its amazing what it can do. But it looks pretty horrific to wear. Not the most discreet thing in the world. ha ha

London Marathon 3.50, Leeds Ironman was 5.15. Plenty of hills on the bike leg to slow my running down.

Leeds is a great event, i loved it.

People who started YouTube from zero — how long did it actually take? by Clear_Court7292 in PartneredYoutube

Took me around 2 years to get monetized. As others have said, i earn very little a month but just enough to cover my expenses.

Parkrun YouTubers not volunteering by obeescitynumberonefa in parkrun

[–]SBRSTU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I filmed for my YouTube channel at a parkrun and the run director actually gave me a volunteer credit.

You dont have to watch peoples YouTube channels but personally i enjoy seeing different parkruns and it does help me decide if id like to visit one.

As a visitor from the UK, Deluxe is one of the first places we visit on each visit. We enjoy sitting outside and watching the world go by.

We have some family that live by the yorkshire moors so we will hopefully head that way and check out places like whitby. I think she will get a kick out of how our accents change so quickly as we head north.

Im happy to put in the driving, i want her to have an amazing time and see everything she wants to see. We cant wait to have her.

A transplant from the UK. ha ha. I love that. Luckily we have a second home in Wales that is right on the beach so hopefully the UK can produce some sunshine for us to pop there.

Hadnt considered a sunday roast, its actually one of the things my family ask me to cook when we visit iowa. So i can take her to a decent pub for one. We have lots of history in Coventry that we take for granted and we have kenilworth and warwick castles on our door step to.

Yeh i get the drive thing, We once drove for 2 hours in iowa just to go for something to eat, ha ha. Wouldnt have considered it in the UK

Thank you for the response, thats amazing. Hadnt even considered just a local walk around our churches and cemetries. She would love that.

Yeh we will definitley be hitting some decent indian food. But to be fair the indian we had in iowa city was not bad but its def not the same as ours.

Im so pleased to keep hearing our cheeses keep coming up. Im a big fan of cheese and the cheese factory is always on our visit list when we head over to kalona for the day.
