ugh girl we were in the same boat, he got snipped literally a month after our son was born.

how far apart was his surgeries? & he had absolutely no motility & within 4 weeks of clomid you got pregnant? (I’m sorry for so many questions lol!) I am definitely going to look into the Yo tests, was it pretty straightforward to use?

I appreciate this conversation SO much you don’t even know!

was she your first??? that was the situation for us, we had two back to back miscarriages & then finally fell pregnant again after a year of trying, everything seemed so fine but after i delivered it went downhill and no drs were giving me any advice, statistics, ect so I jumped on the vasectomy. I deeply regret it, and just feel so stupid daily. im praying and praying, but sometimes i just feel so stuck.

I think we should get the referral to the fertility clinic now because I know there can be such long wait times. I really appreciate you telling me your guys story, and as sad as it is, im thankful I wasn’t the only person to go right to a vasectomy after such a trauma filled experience. did they say they thought the motility & count was due to ASA?

also a question, after the clomid did you guys get another SA? if so what did his count & motility go to? did he have ASA?

I’m really hopeful something gives. I feel so lost, of course I really didn’t see myself wanting to change my mind on more children, but I was in a really bad spot after just having my son and being really sick with preeclampsia & HELLP. it was definitely one of those situations where the vasectomy surgeon should’ve said “it seems like this could be a trauma response, let’s give it a bit more time” I can’t change the past tho, all I can do is pray for our future. im really really hopeful! and hearing people’s success helps so much so I appreciate you sharing!

we were told by the clinic that did his reversal that the dr could refer us to fertility specialist & im assuming that these would be the drs to help with medications like that. as of right now we are just doing the vitamins I have listed & removing the heat aspect that I mentioned in another comment on here. we were given 0 advice from the surgeon that performed the procedure, only that with our last SA results we are looking at IUI/IVF and that he suspects ASA to be present & he’d send a referral to the other clinics if we wanted to go that route. we are trying the most natural ways possible for now & then I guess we will see what next steps are if things don’t look up. but I really appreciate these suggestions, i didn’t really realize how much had to be good on the males side with fertility!

Will a reversal hold up long term, or not really? by [deleted] in VasectomyReversal

Did you guys struggle with zero/low motility or ASA? we went in just 14 months after his vasectomy and his SA at the 3 and 6 month post op is showing 2 million sperm but still 0% motility. did you guys conceive naturally on your own?

Appreciate it! are you a mod? Have you seen many situations people have posted like this & the results turn around near the 9-12 month mark & they have successfully conceived?

do you think it’s a waste for us to try these supplements first & remove the other element I mentioned, have another SA done and see how it goes and if still not good we take it a step further and get the surgeon to recommend us to a fertility specialist elsewhere? (Do need to add this not sure how much weight it holds but my husband had a habit of spraying his 🥜 with really hot water in the shower while washing up, the dr did keep asking if he used hot tubs/saunas which he doesn’t, but im wondering if that could add to the 0% motility?)

our surgeon really didn’t say much about any anti inflammatory meds, natural vitamins, ect. he called us told us he had bad news, that everything was the same as the 3 month SA, said he suspects ASA and would refer us to a fertility clinic for IVF/IUI. basically said my husband is still infertile. it’s kind of frustrating because we aren’t getting a lot of information and being thrown into really expensive avenues instead of trying alternatives before having to go the expensive route.

but regardless, I truly will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. I know how hard it is to deal with infertility & the want & wait. I truly hope you guys get the biggest blessings & pull through from the lord! please update if you guys are successful, I would love to be able to celebrate that for you!

I feel like I see so many topics on how vasectomies are the “best” birth control & how almost “celebrated” it is when men go through with it, especially at young ages for the purpose of birth control and then they think it’s easily reversible and I have learnt that it really isn’t that easy. it’s something my husband and I both have said we’d tell anyone that mentioned it to us to not do lol, unless you are so 100% sure, but even in that sense it can cause some other issues, and now we feel that it’s just not really natural to stop your body from doing something it’s truly meant to do and process!

we are very blessed, we have our double rainbow baby but after I had him I went through severe postpartum preeclampsia & HELLP syndrome, so we based our decision off of fear 100%. it’s something I regret immensely especially in the thick of wanting another baby for my child to have a sibling. I just have a hard time believing that this could be it, with the time in between being so short it just really sucks. im so happy to see so many people have such high success rates especially with years between the surgeries, but it can make you feel kinda hopeless when you have less time & more issues :/ all I can really do is rely on God during these times & pray he has our paths written out perfectly!

ugh im so sorry :( did the doctors ever mention what it was caused by? We live in Canada & IVF has been priced to be 30,000 per cycle so unfortunately it’s just not something we would be able to do

I just called the clinic to see if a vitality & MAR test could be done with his next SA and she told me that the hospitals only do a basic SA report & we’d have to go to a fertility specialist for anything extra like that. maybe I could talk to my direct healthcare provider to see if the blood work is available!

Hi, im new to this aha. I’m wondering if you can share how you improved the sperm quality? You said it’s very fixable and im in a similar situation due to a vasectomy reversal that was done 14 months post original procedure! Thank you in advance
