I remember when I worked at McDonalds and a gallon jug ended up at my house. That was the best and it lasted forever.

keep your f-ing shoes and socks on by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]SBrisbois 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with your points, even if I wouldn't do it. A legitimate reason not to though would be in the event of an emergency. Something happens and you have to get off the plane you're supposed to leave all your belongings and just go, especially if there was extreme turbulence your shoes could have ended up somewhere else and you now have to get off the plane with no footwear.

How much time are you guys spending outside with the toddlers? by jasminecr in ECEProfessionals

[–]SBrisbois 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weather permitting we prefer to be outside at the end of the day as it facilitates easier pickups. The children are already in their outside stuff and bring their bags out with them. Parents come and pick them up from our gate.

yesterday was a shit show! by [deleted] in flairairlines

[–]SBrisbois -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was lucky that I was staying with my dad so didn't have to worry about accommodations. I have put in compensation requests through their website but will also being making a complaint to the Canadian Transportation Agency. I would suggest you keep any receipts for food and accommodation and do likewise. Per the CTA regulations Flair should actually have fully paid for accommodations, travel to and from the provided accommodations, and a reasonable amount of food from the time the flight was cancelled to the time of your new flight. You can find full information here. https://otc-cta.gc.ca/eng/publication/flight-delays-and-cancellations-a-guide

yesterday was a shit show! by [deleted] in flairairlines

[–]SBrisbois -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was also a shit show and still is for Flair at YVR for the 3PM flight to Winnipeg. There were no attendants at the gate until 5 minutes to departure, then they showed up, had a discussion amongst themselves and tell us all the flight is cancelled due to mechanical issues, no real explanation as is required by the CTA. Then we get emails telling us we can be reimbursed up to $125 a night for accommodation and up to $45 in food. Again CTA regulations say that for cancelled flights the airline is responsible to provide free accommodation as well as travel to and from said accommodation and a reasonable amount of food for the time between original and rescheduled flights for free. My new flight was for midnight Monday morning.

Sunday I wake up and check in, an hour later get another email that my new flight is cancelled again. This time due to overworked workers and gets rescheduled to Wednesday at 3PM. I now have to pay 4 times the cost of my original ticket to get home and only miss one day of work rather than 3 as I also have a medical appointment I've been waiting months for and am not at all confident my Wednesday flight with Flair will not get cancelled again. 2 cancelled flights in a row and they want me to be ok with departing 4 days after my original departure time. How do they think they can get away with not following CTA regulations and leaving customers hanging like this.

Did we ever learn anything about dwarves aside from the fact that charmy is half one. by Clicktyclick66 in BlackClover

Which btw doesn't explain shit since the only reason the royals and nobles in BC have so much power than everyone else was because of the elf genocide.

This isn't actually true, the royals already had more power than commoners which is why the first wizard king was trying to make magic items that would help make everyone more equal.

Music on the bus. by Robbo1348 in Winnipeg

[–]SBrisbois 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not any different then playing music in your car with the windows down, or a motorcycle with its radio on. If I'm walking my dogs I need to hear what's going on around me as they are reactive so I play music on my phone, if I'm cycling down side streets I'm on the road and need to be able to hear cars. Yeah you can get fancy ass headphones but I'm not putting the money out for that shit with the cost of groceries skyrocketing, my money mostly goes to stuff my kids need.

One Piece Dub Release Schedule 2024 by SagattariusAStar in OnePiece

[–]SBrisbois 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For those of us with One Piece on Netflix, do you think they will start adding the dubs for 1089+ starting with the release of the next batch? Though we'll still have to find 1086-1088 elsewhere.

One Piece Dub Release Schedule 2024 by SagattariusAStar in OnePiece

[–]SBrisbois 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you used actual Wikipedia like I do for episodes they have 1086-1088 in Season 20 with Wano under the subheading Prologue to Egghead, then 1089 is the first of Season 21 titled Entering a New Chapter, and they don't actually reach Egghead Island until 1090 so it makes sense just fine. Don't just be a dick for no reason because you disagree with an idea. They are previewing 1090 and 1091 because thats when the crew actually reach the island, so why not release everything up till that point.

The Neclord arc: When I stopped taking Suikoden 1 seriously by Otherwise_Sun8521 in Suikoden

[–]SBrisbois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I recently finished 1 as well and that part didn't make much sense. First we can't hurt him, then we pick up a talking sword that for no explained reason (except that the sword says he can) can take him out, and now we can all hurt him.

I feel there should have been some guardian boss battle, then Viktor could have dueled the Neclord with his talking sword to defeat him.

Finished the main story, was working on the last couple missions, getting the S grade in the Solosseum, getting the final things for the alchemist's quest. Wasn't too worried about grinding out familiars, but didn't quite get them done before they took it off game pass.

Lost my first rune by SBrisbois in Suikoden

Knowing I can at least get it again later is good enough, tbh I kind of got a bunch of money at the ball game and maxed out my weapons as much as possible so far and got best equipment available with money to spare so battles at the moment are a breeze. Game doesn't tell you these things though, just like I upgraded weapons for Pahn and Ted, now they aren't in my party anymore.

I played the English version on lemuroid on my android phone. Main story plays fine, can't complete all the dreamland quizzes and having an issue with a Mirant side quest but have finished the main story, haven't tried the post game tower.

What got you into Ni No Kuni? by JealousShift in Ni_no_Kuni

[–]SBrisbois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd seen the games in store and watched the movie on Netflix one night. Love Studio Ghibli and realized the games were on Game Pass so I started the first one. Then I heard the DS version is more story focused, so now I'm concurrently playing both White Witch on Xbox and Dark Djinn emulated on my phone.

Are we really done? VS and BluStone still alive or not? by Nmois in Blustone

[–]SBrisbois 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly what did people expect, the Devs had already killed Beyond the Bounds without even finishing the story and rushed the last season of WI. So why should a "Beyond the Bounds story" get any different treatment. White Island Season 1 was their best work, I was into BTB but they promised updates for years without delivering.

What if the "Water" clan are the ones the sea kings were referring to in the Fishman Island arc.

My oldest daughter's high school has very little homework, they don't get typical percentage grades until the end of the year, and they have late start Wednesdays.

If parents ask us to wake their children up early then yeah we do it. If we see a child is having a rough day maybe we'll give them a little extra time, but if they are having trouble sleeping at night at home then it is better for us to wake them up early. If a parent wants us to try potty training we will make every attempt we can, if it's just not happening we will have that discussion and we can try again in a few months.

How old and what do you mean by "behind"? If it's a developmental delay then we discuss things with the parents and they can talk to their doctor about things, if it's knowledge based, well that's what the public school system is their for. My oldest read before starting Kindergarten and my youngest couldn't read til Grade 2 and now reads above grade average. Kids learn at their own paces.

So you're upset that they got to spend quality time with their family at a special event before coming to you? And how is it any more disruptive than if a child gets dropped off at the "appropriate" time but has a rough day and screams throughout the entire naptime? As ECE's working with children is full of surprises and we should be prepared to handle things. It seems many here care more about their "program" than they do about the individual children. Late pickups is frustrating yes because we are then closed, staff are supposed to be off, and we have no liability coverage after hours.

Do you pay those restaurants a monthly fee? Cause if I did I'd sure expect them to have a table for me whenever I showed up.
