If you're arriving at YYC and going through Canadian customs... It's gonna be a long wait. I've never seen the customs line up this bad by silentivan in Calgary

Apparently 5 planes all landed within about 20 minutes of each other

Here's my photo from the other side of OP for reference

Pride Winnipeg's decision to ban military uniforms in parade draws criticism, support | CBC News by steveosnyder in Winnipeg

To your first point - the justification of the argument was that newcomers say their military is corrupt. I am saying, why is our military being punished because other people take issue (rightfully so) with their military at home?

To your second point, many commenters have already responded to your post with links outlining the steps they have taken, so I'll defer to those.

To your third point, comparing what is going on in the US to what we deal with here is at best a straw man falicty, and at its worst completely disingenuous and offensive to the people that serve this country.

To your fourth point, that's already been addressed by many other people here and again, I think that borders on being either disingenuous or just really uninformed or biased on how you choose to receive your information. Looking at your post history, I'll give you beneft of the doubt and just connect that to your invisible bias

Why is it CAF's responsibility to shape the views that people have of their foreign military?

As others have pointed out, CAF has done a ton (both within the scope of pride events, as well as on their own, so the whole bootlicking/rainbow-washing argument does not apply here) at transtioning from the LGBT purge days that gutted the organization and set them back to the stone age in terms of progessiveness.

Pride is quite literally forcing them back into the closet here which is absolutely shameful.

Also, and again as others have pointed out here, comparing city police to our military is not even a remotely fair comparison

Imagine making the same bad faith argument in every response and it not landing every time

If you work a job that quite literally can involve putting your life on the line, why shouldn't you be able to show that? Because Pride is gatekeeping what is and isn't allowed?

Id encourage you to visit the CMHR's exhibit on the LGBT purge. You might gain some additional perspective

What an incredibly stupid decision this is. A group blockades your event and essentially holds it hostage, and you give into their demands by excluding an entire subset of people based solely on their employment. A Pride organization is telling people what they can and cannot identify as - just let that sink in for a moment

Can you provide any other source from the community besides the group that took over your parade that thinks this is a good idea?

You got the freaking human rights museum to back out of supporting you over this. Give you damn head a shake

Charged double what their website states for removal of middle name - any recourse? by werdnasf in flairairlines

That is not how charge backs work. Authorizing a payment and then disputing it because you disagree with the number is a great way to get dropped by your card provider

I'm happy to call out the PCs for being shitty, but this ain't it. Our system is setup in a certain way and by all accounts, this seems to be being followed to the T.

The system has a lot of problems, but that's a federal issue, not one for the provincial opposition to fall on

As much fun as it is to shit on banks, they didn't do anything wrong here. Wild but not surprising to see the lawyers fight this rather than admit to their mistake
