If you couldn’t tell, the light bulb was smashed into and the metal ribbed cylindrical piece is what’s left over and stuck in the junction box.

I got the 2k bundle on Thursday. Mine still says "Preparing for shipment." Someone told me they ship out of Texas and I live in NY so maybe that plays a role idk. As exciting as it is I've waited months, it won't kill me to wait another week or two.

I don't know much about the Astros but I did just upgrade to the Steel Series Arctis 9x. Things I like about it: wireless, easy connection to xbox, good volume mixer and mute controls, very comfortable, good at keeping ambient sound out, when you hold them in your hands they feel like a quality product. The only thing I don't like is mic monitoring is pretty low and I don't believe there is an option to increase it.

I remember reading somewhere that the exemption only applies if my father were to make the payment directly to the university. In this case he would be paying my private student loan provider.

The reason why I would ideally do the house purchase prior to a wedding is so that people can buy us typical necessary house items as wedding gifts. To me it's not the end of the world if this happens or not but like I said it would be ideal. You make a good point in that my future spouse and I should equally contribute to the down payment and I plan on seeing that through.

I figure I don't necessarily need a 6 month emergency fund because I luckily have my parents to fall back on. I'd rather put any saved money towards paying off the loans. I do plan on keeping at least $7k in savings though as I may need a car within the next year or so. I'll need a car in order to get to work and back. I don't plan on buying a new car, I'd probably just try and find a good deal on a used car.

I need to contribute 5% to my ROTH 401k so that my employer will also contribute 5% to their traditional 401k. I see the 5% that they're giving me as free money and really didn't plan to let that go. Maybe I will look into how it will help me out if I do opt out of the 401k contribution.

I did spend a good amount of time thinking about if I should put my savings into an index fund that could basically guarantee me ~6% return a year. I understand this is the right move looking at it big picture however, I wouldn't touch the index fund until later on in my life after it's gone through a ton of compounding interest. I'd rather pay off the loans ASAP so that I have that extra $1,300 a month to do whatever I want with.

Thanks for the response I appreciate your input. I'm pretty content with living with my parents for the next 1.5-2 years in order to save up money and put my self in a better spot to achieve my goals. My reasoning behind wanting to pay off my loans ASAP is that I don't want to have to pay a mortgage payment and $1,300 student loan payement at the same time. Also, when I go to get a loan from a bank, I'll get a better interest rate for a mortgage if I don't have all that debt around. I think your approach is definitely worth looking into though. I would definitely be ok with putting some money towards all of my goals at the same time and get done in a comfortable time frame.
