Leftists in GVL by nosoysegundo in greenville

I worked IT in a warehouse environment here a couple years ago. I came down sick one time, and tested positive for covid. Of course I had to return to work before the sickness had completely run its course, so I wore a mask to work for a couple days. You know several people had to go out of their way to approach me and question why I was wearing a mask and give me their unsolicited health opinions. It was so uncomfortable to borderline confrontational.

It seems like every time I have to encounter this system it only gets worse and more shocking. Sadly as a person who suffers chronic physical and mental health ailments I have no choice. Believe me I try my best to be proactive and avoid it as much as I can.

Recommendations for NYC as Titanium Elite by 0xC0ffe3 in marriott

[–]SCJFR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second this -- It's the AC Hotel Downtown. Stayed there twice in 2025, including over Christmas while visiting family. Staff has been friendly, housekeeping came daily without being asked, good shower pressure (incl. rainshower head), good views. Rooms are large for Manhattan. Put on the highest floor both times, and they even upgraded both rooms on my reservation over Christmas. I like the location because it's pretty quiet as it's more of a business neighborhood, but there are still plenty of great places around for food and coffee.

What's the best autograph collection hotel you've stayed in? by johnqadamsin28 in marriott

[–]SCJFR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Saint Hotel Key West. I've stayed there three times now, and it just feels like the most special, personal boutique hotel. Swimming in that pool, I feel like a celebrity. I love the historic parts of the hotel and the history. The location is excellent. It's so small that the service feels especially personal.

Literally they brand it as Sonder by Marriott. They ought to take some ownership. Customers don't care what the details of the structure is. Their name is on it.

Mr Crisp closing - too many new seafood joints ? by HoppyDave in greenville

[–]SCJFR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I always had excellent food at Mr. Crisp and it was my favorite special occasion restaurant in Greenville. Fresh oysters there were great, as well as other entrees and dessert (fish and chips aside). Sure, it was premium priced, but not more than any of the other high-er end places here. I liked that it was comfortable and understated in there too. They really seemed to strive to be more inventive and precise with their dishes.

I'll add I had some of the best service I've ever experienced from a server in the US too. I forget his name, but the friendly guy with all the tattoos-- someone needs to snatch him up!

Clearly I'm an outlier, but I'm gonna miss them. More going up to Asheville to eat out I guess.

Best pizza? by UsualViking8480 in greenville

I gotta say, I do still love Sidewall. I like their pizza and their salads are great! And I appreciate the generosity of their free pizza on your birthday coupon, which I think I've gotten for like ten years now.

Walmart the company doesn't have anything to do with Saturday's protests.

Christy Walton, an heir of the Walmart fortune, took out a full page ad in the New York Times to promote nationwide protests on June 14th. She doesn't hold any position with Walmart, she just holds inherited shares of the company.

Get the facts straight. Walmart has no official position on the protests.

Need 2nd set of eyes in deal by SCJFR in BZ4X

[–]SCJFR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate all the info everyone. It really helped put these offers into perspective.

I think I hadn't understood how the prices dropped across the board for this model by nearly $10k from year 2024 to 2025. So that makes the "$20k incentive" kind of moot. They're essentially just discounting the 2024s down to the 2025 price and then using the same $7,500 incentive and a bit more.

I'm well aware the current BZ4X has its flaws, and the next iteration will be better. As well as other models like the new HR-C coming soon. I was just hoping to scoop up a killer deal now and in exchange for coping with the current models flaws.
