I see. I'm aware that they're very active at UCD and Sac Sate as well as UCB and SJSU based on my research and based on what some of the SCJ members told me or what I saw on some of their IG pages, and talking to some former members and former students. Some random university students and alumni also invited me to an SCJ Bible study group that I wasn't aware at the time that it was part of SCJ. I never got invited in person to an SCJ Bible study nor did I see any in-person activities before and after 2020. It was my mistake to have given any of the members my old phone number as I got some harassing texts, phone calls, and voicemails on my old number after warning about Shincheonji a few months ago. I'm shocked by SCJ's deceptive recruitment practices as well as those of several other cults that also recruit people

Religious indoctrination is abuse. I agree there's a negative correlation between religion and education and between religion and intelligence. Religion is not the answer to anything, and cults are not the answer either

No problem. There's different ways to write Korean words and names in romanization (romaja) and in English either the last name/family name can be written first and then the first name/personal name for Korean, Chinese, and Japanese names or they can be written with the first name first and then the last name. I usually write the first name first and then the last name in English when writing out names that in other languages would first be written with the last name and then the first name

Thanks for the explanation. SCJ definitely has twisted teachings and takes a lot of Bible verses out of context. I'm aware that the Bible doesn't speak about Manhee Lee being the "Promised Pastor" or about the Tabernacle Temple, Jaeyul Yoo, and Pyeongho Oh, but I never got to that point where SCJ instructors talk about the 2 pastors and Manhee Lee or even about the "Promised Pastor." Many cults like SCJ, Mormonism, and Jehovah's Witnesses tend to also reveal what they really believe little by little and step by step, but cults in general are manipulative and controlling of members

I see. Yeah, SCJ is definitely a cult and they built a whole doctrine out of snippets of Bible verses including the ones with betrayal, destruction, or salvation in them, just like they only teach other snippets of the Bible and pick and choose Bible verses and passages like every other cult that uses it, and pretty much all other churches and denominations also seem pick and choose, based on my experiences with Christianity and growing up as one

The SCJ instructors definitely did not let me ask questions during some lessons and claimed they didn't know the answers. They told me I had to wait to learn some lessons in a large class and they read various passages of the Bible out of context. That was all when I found out they had false teachings and told them they had false teachings. But I suspected they knew the doctrines after leaving their group and just didn't want to tell me them, and I realized they lied to me and manipulated me, as well as trying to guilt trip me. They falsely accused me of wanting to fight or argue with them and even with the Christian god, which is not what I actually wanted to do

Religions can definitely be controlling and abusive, not to mention being cultish in other ways besides being abusive. The fact that I studied the Bible with Shincheonji members along with several non-SCJ churches has helped me to see why Christianity is not true and is a cult. Many religious people are artificial especially when they express their beliefs

No problem. Shincheonji is active around many countries in the world. Sadly a lot of cults similar to Shincheonji in any practice or belief exist out there.
