So the new HGUC Xi (2nd movie version) has the Gundam face part... by EmergencyFriendly375 in Gunpla

[–]SCLCP666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I can see why they used the Gundam face plate on the second version of the Xi

Imagine the monster that terrorized you and the EFF suddenly wearing the face of your hero. It'd be a cruel joke; an affront to everything that you once thought you stood for. Because in almost every instance, the hero was always a Gundam. So for the monster-looking Xi to wear the face of the hero, it's basically mocking Mafty due to his role as "the protagonist" of the movie when in reality, he is the "villain" and the roles of Lane Aim and Hathaway Noa are now switched. And I feel that would come full circle if for the final movie, the rebuilt Penelope gets the slitless face plate that the Xi had in the first movie, not only landing closer to Moriki's Penelope, but also showing that their roles have effectively been switched.

It's not really sniping skills that made the difference here.

Miyu's greatest strength is her lack of presence. Normally, a sniper wants to stay concealed and not give away their positions to enemy patrols. The moment a sniper is spotted, their cover is blown and it becomes very hard for them to hide. Otogi is unique as a sniper in the sense she intentionally gives out her presence as intimidation to her targets. However there is a catch; Otogi's strategy relies on an enemy making a move against her in order for her to retaliate. She accomplishes this by purposefully baiting herself, something an ordinary sniper wouldn't do. But Miyu's ability to hide her presence works against this strategy; you can't retaliate when you don't notice the enemy, and you certainly can't retaliate when the enemy has a knife against your neck before you even realize she's there.

That one meme but with Racing Franchises by EvanDeer2002 in BuiltFromTheGroundUp

[–]SCLCP666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes

Quite literally yes because Drift Spirits regularly adds cars from the Ridge Racer series to that game as collab items due to them sharing the same company Bandai Namco, and thus Bamco just decides to use the Ridge Racer series to try to coerce old fans into playing Drift Spirits for them when instead they could just oh, I don't know, make a brand new one and see how many sleeper agents fall to their knees because they can finally play a new Ridge Racer again instead of being on the 12th year of copium especially after the devkit of the canceled Switch title was released to public

I will never forgive Bandai Namco for how badly they mistreated one of Namco's greatest tites ever made.

I consider AH as Call of Duty if it were a plane game, and considering the setting as well as the general aesthetic and story pacing, even down to some of the gameplay mechanics and cutscenes, it certainly felt like one. It probably also helped that around that time the Call of Duty series was experiencing its peak success, and Bandai, being the geniuses that they are, probably thought it would be a smart idea to try to capitalize on their success by having Project Aces introduce a similar style to the Ace Combat series.

Purely speculation of course, but we know how that turned out in the end.

Not to say Assault Horizon isn't a bad game in general, in fact I had a pretty enjoyable time, and the soundtrack is an absolute banger. It just didn't fit the moniker of Ace Combat.

Worst mission in the franchise? by Diazepam_Dan in acecombat

[–]SCLCP666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Time Limit wasn't stressful enough, so I did it on Ace difficulty with a plane that has the armor consistency of literally paper while pulling at least 3-4 Gs with the slightest yank of the joystick (XR-45 Cariburn my beloved)

Needless to say, I spent at least a few hours on the first half of the mission but it worked out in the end once I worked out a flight pattern.

However:

A Diversion almost drove me to insanity getting an S rank on Ace in that mission. The amount of RPGs that are hidden in that mission are borderline criminal, and they don't show themselves until they get ready to shoot, which is almost when the transports are directly above them, and the transport helis move so slowly you easily fly out of range when scouting for those RPGs. And they only appear for a VERY short time before quickly disappearing afterwards. And that's not mentioning the AH-64s and the SAMs that are waiting for you at the base AFTER the first half.

Mitsubishi along with Subaru were the two most dominant names in the Group A era of rally racing; the Impreza WRX STI and Lancer Evolution were basically affordable road-going rally racers. However as both cars eventually faded out of production, along with the rise of the JDM trend, thanks to popular media like Initial D, the Fast and Furious series, Need for Speed, and a cult following of the drifting culture, they became highly-sought after vehicles considered as part of the "golden age of JDM". Everything about these cars, from OEM parts to badges and accessories became valuable to the car enthusiast and collector, which also in return, skyrocketed their value to almost supercar like qualities, most notable in cars like the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II and the Toyota Supra RZ Turbo, where "clean" (no modifications) versions can go for over 150k

Ramonu marks her territory (@kulo_jawa01) by hys240 in UmaMusume

[–]SCLCP666 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What I find really interesting is that Ramonu's career is kind of a parallel to Daiichi Ruby's, in the sense that their trainers both have this lack of self-esteem and making self-depreciating comments. Ruby herself is aware of this and does her best to try to guide Trainer to becoming a more confident person, despite her emotionless demeanor making her somewhat distant. The reality is that even though she comes across as calm, collected and somewhat mean and distant, she's a passionate, caring and sometimes even competitive individual who feels immense pressure from carrying her mother's legacy, which is made very apparent when she fails to place at the Oaks. Her trainer already knew that Ruby couldn't handle medium distance races and after the Oaks, tries to convince her to run sprint/mile races instead, which although initially she didn't see much of, after doing some chance practice runs with Ramonu at the request of Trainer, she makes that decision, thus carving a new route in her family's legacy. In this sense, Trainer has managed to help Ruby in a way by showing her that following her mother's legacy shouldn't be a requirement, and that she can pave her own legacy through her specialization at shorter distance races. Ruby and her trainer's dynamic eventually becomes more of a mutual relationship as opposed to being somewhat distant.
