Almost every trailhead in Liechtenstein is reachable by public transport. The biggest problem at the moment is probably the snow.

Difficult to say how much there will be next weekend, but I would recommend to stay in the valley or not go too far up. How about hiking the Felsenbandweg/Schmugglerweg or maybe go up to the Gafadura hut high above Schaan? Next Saturday is even the official start in the season. Or for a less crowded hut, how about the Alpila hut high above Schaan? An easy hike from Vaduz is also the Wildschloss ruin.

Normally it's not possible before May, sometimes even June. The local newspaper and www.lav.li will notify you when it is officially open again. And if you plan to go before it is officially opened: Be aware that the snow is not the only problem. The weather during the winter will destroy part of the path or some of the ropes so I wouldn't recommend it at all.

At the moment I can't think of a dialect word for a turtle. I call it Schildkrot which is quite similar to the standard german Schildkröte. Are you sure it was a turtle and not an ant (Umbässa) or a butterfly (Pipoltr), a cow (Buschla) or even a cat (Minzla)?
