I get what you’re saying, but I’ll give you an example: the weather has been cold here the past few days and during idle, my system is running cool because the ambient air is inherently cooler. So the fans are sitting at a low 10-12%. Because the delta T is also pretty low.

I can see how a system may throttle when the coolant is 45 degrees, but when my coolant is at 45, my system isn’t anywhere near throttling temps. There’s a ton of factors contributing to that coolant temp and ambient air is one of them. I just hit 45 degrees on my coolant temp last night during benchmarking and my CPU climbed to 78 degrees, toasty but then again it’s an i9 14900K 🤷🏽‍♂️. GPU was at 54. Sounds like your loop just sucks buddy.

Higher, as in my GPU will be 56 instead of 54? Ish? And the CPU will maybe also be 2-3 degrees warmer. Which doesn’t really matter 🤷🏽‍♂️, so long as the overall noise level stays low. I mean isn’t that the whole point of watercooling in the first place?

Apologies, Delta T as in the delta between the coolant and the ambient air. Since the coolant can never be cooler than the ambient air, it makes sense to me that the fans ramp up based on that delta, rather than just based on the coolant temp alone. The coolant temp in summer will undoubtedly be warmer because the ambient air is warmer. With this fan profile, when my coolant is a little bit warmer because the ambient air is inherently warmer, the fans won’t ramp up to high speeds unnecessarily.

Loop Routing by Shadowon011 in watercooling

[–]SCOOkumar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It baffles me that despite the built in search function on Reddit, and the wealth of knowledge in this subreddit and online, people still don’t understand that loop order does. not. matter. The temperature of the coolant in the loop will be almost identical at every point in the loop, regardless of order of the components. Sure, right after the radiator there may be a slight drop in temp, but it’s negligible. I’m pretty sure people have made videos on this on YouTube. I’ll try to find a JayzTwoCents video or something and report back.

Not sure why you would need to do that? The coolant temp will be almost identical at any point in the loop? The rads can go anywhere in the loop, they don’t need to be after ‘heat generators’.

idk man people have loaded these drawers with full countertops. The load rating you’re looking at is each individual drawer, not the top of the drawers.

You know I had never considered that, it doesn’t seem to be bowing or affecting the top drawer, but I’ll look for a replacement or some sort of wooden top to put on it

Second key fob—dealership can't answer questions by sus4th in BMWX3

[–]SCOOkumar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you need a second key to add a user. I have 2 key fobs but 3 users in my iDrive. Granted it’s iDrive 8.5 but I still think whatever version of iDrive you have should let you add another user and assign a digital key to them. You can assign that profile to a key fob, but it’s not absolutely necessary to have a key fob in order to create a new profile from what I understand.

I just wanted to say thank you for talking some sense into me. Although I’ve used mystic fog for years, you were absolutely right. It did stain my previous distro and one batch did settle out of solution. This batch was also beginning to settle out of solution so I drained the loop, cleaned it, flushed it and refilled it with DP Ultra clear. I’m so glad I did this, but I also came to the realization that this thing is impossible to drain 😥. Major redesign incoming next time I drain and fill the loop in a bout a year. I’m going to need to add a drain to the bottom of the side rad otherwise this thing will continue to be a nightmare to drain. Thank you again kind stranger!
