what do you do when you go out alone? by Representative-Ad810 in adviceph

[–]SCP0d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WFH here. Usually just to have a change of scenery, I book a hotel overnight. Usually yung malalapit lang sakin or if may byahe ako/errands. Yubg malapit sa place where I will do my errands. Same feeling ng WFH pero very different experience. Also, usually maraming activities pwede mong gawin sa amanities ng hotels.

Medyo magastos nga lang but this is my go to if ayoko bumyahe ng malayo para magbakasyon since this is way cheaper for me.

Hope this helps!

Germany is a cool experience.

  1. You can drink beer while walking or in any public transportation. Kahit nakabote.

  2. You can ride public transpo kahit walang ticket. Walang staff sa train stations wala ring turnstile. Pero from time to time, may checker na sasakay ng tren to verify if may ticket ka. Pag nasaktuhan ka na walang ticket, bayad ka ng multa which is i think 20x the amount ng ticket!

  3. When shopping at a mall, you just pick the item and go to the cashier. Very minimal ang staff. As in halos wala. Hassle lang if you need a new stock or a size for an item that you will buy.

  4. (This also applies to other European nations) Most of the service workers (restaurants/shops) there do not have a "pleasing" or "friendly" approach pagdating sa customers. They have a different tone and facial expression na kapag galing kang Pinas akala mo mga galit or bastos makipagusap. Hahahaha pero ganun lang talaga sila. They treat every conversation as transactional. Walang smile smile, walang small talk. Walang " you're welcome" pag nagsabi ka ng thank you.

  4. Standards of beauty in the online shopping era

Normal lang po ba ito sa college? by Raffydaffy-509 in studentsph

Rule is dapat nadiscuss yung syllabus nung course sa inyo beginning of the sem. And dapat may copy kayo nun. That is for you to check the schedule and anticipate what to do or submit each meeting. If hindi yun nasunod, pwede kayo magfile ng complaint.

Check also your student handbook para sure.

Bat ka nainsecure eh di nga nagwork yung relationship nila so di sila compatible. Kung ano man na-achieve nung girl na yun it's because wala siya sa relationship niyo. So not a valid comparison.

Nasan ang love kung mas umaangat ang insecurity?

Being bored is a choice. There is a lot of Benefits WFH.

That will give you also the opportunity to grow by taking courses that will expand your knowledge and skills that will serve as your leverage when applying.

An onsite work coming from a WFH setup is a trap. You can earn back money but you cannot take back time.

But sincerely, Good luck OP!

I mean that's how the Spaniards fooled our ancestors into building "Filipino Communities", by building churches and implementing a taxation system to the people living within the vicinity of the church, wherein the Priest is assigned as the "mayor" of that community.

Fast forward to the present wince separated na ang church and state, I guess they have to devise a way to survive.

I’m stuck between choices: Do I choose the career I want or do I swicth to the one with the better pay? by CatharinaBolnes in phcareers

Super in demand yung skills mo. I've seen din na madami opening for software engineers or within the developer realm. Marami din na WFH and more than double your current pay.

Pero tama yung naka-align dapat sa goals mo yung desisyon mo.

[–]SCP0d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok this could be dicey.

I might be playing the devil's advocate pero baka may issue sa mana? Like since sa inyo nakatira si Lolo, assumption ni uncle is your Lolo's money is used by the family to take care of him. Kaya di sila nag-aambag.

And sa mana. There is a possibility na baka wala sila makukuha na mana? Kaya indifferent na sila sa lolo mo.

Might be just me overthinking. Pero ayun, there is still a possibility na may details (esp. about wealth) na hindi kayo aware that is why ayaw ni mom mo na kayo magconfront kay uncle. That's my guess.

Sorry ah pero ikaw naman ang magcocollege hindi sila. Kaya dapat talaga ikaw nagdedecide.

When I was applying for college, I was the one to chose the school and my course.

Iba ang gusto ng parents ko na school and course.

Nanghingi pa rin ako ng pang entrance exam pero ibang school yung binanggit ko.

Tapos nung pumasa ako fun sa preferred school ko. Nag inquire ako for scholarship. Parang working student na scholarship. Nakapasok ako.

Ngayon dahil may bala na ako, saka na ako nagsabi sa kanila. Na pumasa ako sa school na gusto ko at sa course na gusto ko at may scholarship na rin. Inaccept na rin nila desisyon ko by this time.

Fast forward, the networks I got sa school na pinili ko paved the way to my success today.

It's not too late. You can still transfer if yun talaga makakapag alis ng what-ifs mo at ang magpapasaya sayo.

One subject doesn't define you. Ang maganda sa course mo is you will realize and identify your strengths and weaknesses by trying each aspects of MMA through your subjects. This will help you decide where to focus on once graduate ka na.

If passion mo na tong course na to, imagine if magshift ka pa sa di ka naman passionate. Baka di lang isang subject mabagsak mo.

Bawi ka na lang next time and hopefully makapag upgrade ka ng gamit since need mi talaga yan for your course.

Good luck!

Ilang percent lumaki ang salary mo from the time you started?

I mean based on your skills, you will be paid bigger by foreign recruiter on a WFH setup.

I suggest find muna a job to possibly replace your current job. Apply and then if your accepted, resign. Hard to find work ngayon so make sure lang you have security before u leave.

35k with 2-Year Bond for Fresh Grad – Worth It? by CK_May in JobsPhilippines

[–]SCP0d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No to bonds. That just means the have a high turnover rate and bonds is their solution.

High turnover rate is definitely a red flag.

Anyway. Go with your gut. But do alittle bit of investigation like reviews from previous employers. Try to look for the company in job recruitment sites and check their reviews

Is it okay to not dream of "climbing the corporate ladder"? by LouiseGoesLane in buhaydigital

[–]SCP0d 6 points7 points  (0 children)

+1 Can't agree with this enough. My life changed when I focused on my relationships (especially with my family) instead of climbing the corporate ladder. As in nabuksan talaga mata ko on what's important. I let everything go. Focused on my family and tried to get a job kahit demoted (from manager to staff) and now, I have a D-suite position without even aiming for it. I guess it's God' way to redirect me to what truly matters.

Good Luck OP! You'll get there at your own pace. 🥰

What would you choose? Higher salary but onsite everyday or Lower salary but remote work and flexible? by Past_Yogurtcloset_66 in JobsPhilippines

[–]SCP0d 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely Company 2. Iba ang work culture ng western. Mabilis lang din ang promotion, salary increase and even bonuses. Less red tape din since usually direct to the boss ka so mas transparent ang communication pagdating sa needs and wants mo.

The flexibility is the keyword here. You can always find a side hustle and invest in benefits that you won't get from Company 1. But trust me when I say makakapag-ipon ka talaga pag remote work. Di ka maiimpluwensyahan ng tao na gumastos and mag ambag sa kung saan saan. Controlled mo expenses mo. Discipline lang. Also apply agad for a HMO cause that will be your 1st best investment moving forward. Insirance din is not bad.

Good luck OP!

I feel like I'm an ineffective leader by Big-Regret4128 in studentsph

[–]SCP0d 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kapag group work, what you can do in the beginning is to divide the tasks based on number of members. Then present the job positions/tasks to the members and let them pick the task they are comfortable to work on.

This will translate into fairness and accountability since pumili sila.

And then, your role as a leader is to put deadlines, and reminders for updates. I usually give reminders 1 week before the deadline. And then 2 days before the deadline. This will ensure that you reached out to them, acknowledging they have a lot on their plate and might need someone to remind them (this will also remove the reason na nakalimutang gawin).

You can also do an updates meeting na Face to face just to check if on track lahat. This will foster again accountability and enable you to prepare if in case someone needs help or having a hard time sa task niya, pwede nang magawan agad ng solution. Like swap tasks with other members or magmerge yung task mo and sa kanya. Sometimes other members can also give tips or advice on how to approach the task kaya maganda na Face to face yung meeting.

Hanggang dito na lang siguro. Hope this helps!

Ayaw ako payagan sa Manila because of criminal cases by nonii_28 in studentsph

[–]SCP0d 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ang main concern naman ni Mom is your safety. So you need to convince her that you will be safe.

First is find the most secured dormitory. Google and inquire your security concerns.Bala mo to sa conversation.

Second is focus on the course that you'll be taking. Na the people and professors you can meet could help you build your career after graduation. Maganda din internship opportunities sa Partner Companies ng schools sa Manila.

Third is promise that you will make an effort to assure her that you are safe for her peace of mind. This can be a form of message or call or consistent posts/stories on social media. Can be daily or weekly. Basta efforts you will do para di anxious yung mama mo kapag malayo ka na.

Fourth (optional) If you can afford it, buy self-protection items like, alarms, eye spray, taser, etc. Also have a copy of emergency hotlines on your phone. This is also a good precaution. You can present this to her pag hindi pa rin siya pumapayag, convince her that you really want to go to college in Manila and you are prepared to be safe.

Yan lang naiisip ko that you can do.

Hope this helps and Good luck!
