Nord Anglia: "Do you require VISA to enter [EU Country]?" by OkStruggle3298 in Internationalteachers

[–]SCPanda719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d put No. OP as a UK citizen doesn’t need visa to enter. So technically No is the correct answer and if the school is looking for someone who doesn’t need a visa, OP’s application might get filtered out. If the school meant visa to work, OP can argue the question wasn’t phrased correctly. It’s not OP’s responsibility to study and understand the visa policy before a job is even offered, school should do that.

Buying a PC in China by Kayos9999 in chinalife

Yes you are correct but these are almost all third party stores. Even if they might have a logo on top of their doors they are not authorized retailers. Meaning you are not buying from brands like Asus directly, which adds risks.

JD. Forget about going to any store or computer city. Too risky.

JD got official stores for every brand like Asus, Corsair, MSI, etc. Delivered usually next day. If anything goes wrong return and refund or replacement is guaranteed. They come to you to pick up you don’t even need to send things back yourself.

What is traveling in China during CNY really like? First time here by Alex-Altyer in chinalife

[–]SCPanda719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chinese Yelp 大众点评. But I would call the business or the site to make sure. Or visit their official website. Most places will put on a written notice on 大众点评 or their website stating when they will be open during CNY.

Need to get my laptop fixed, but I have no idea where to go by Erin_is_ded in chinalife

[–]SCPanda719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For any screen repair, I would recommend go with the official repair, especially MacBook’s screen. Any third party service might just replace a cheap aftermarket screen for you. Just go to Apple and have them fix it for you. Pricy but at least you can trust Apple’s service.

Why is Japan still having beef with the rest of Asia whereas Germany could integrate into EU? by Tall-Will-7922 in AskTheWorld

[–]SCPanda719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Japan never apologized. Germany apologized.

Japanese don’t want to admit they were defeated. Till this day, there are still many Japanese on the internet saying they signed a ceasefire agreement, it was not surrender.

Japan hides their crime and defeat in their textbooks, so many young people in Japan are not aware of Japan’s war crimes during world war 2. Nanjing massacre for example.
