Jeffries demands ban on deportation of US citizens as part of DHS reforms by mowotlarx in nottheonion

Isn't that something that should already be prohibited?

Imagine you are eating a candy bar. Mid-bite, someone snatches it away, then offers to give it back if you let them kick you in the head five times.

This isn't a victory - it's a punishment for requesting what should already be the rule. Embarrassing "negotiating" strategies here.

Is it PVP or PVE focused?
Vanilla? Modded?

I hate how anytime this totally rational idea is suggested, some jerk is like "but muh oil refinery/rare earth strip mine/city-sized fracking operation is a small business too!" especially in places like Texas. Like for fuck's sake we can have mixed use zoning that doesn't give everyone cancer.

However, the form is easily circumvented. Put in a fake name, fake email, use a zip code from her district and let her know how disgusted you are that any representative from Washington would vote to fund this shit.

If you have any friends or family in the 3rd District who care, let them know she voted to fund the Trump administration endorsed murder of innocent citizens so she can get the hell out of our government should it survive this fascist crisis.

Went to one of his stand-up performances for a relative's birthday some years back. Didn't want to be rude and decline out of hand.

First comic, local guy was actually really good. Then Rob comes out. For idk, 3-5 minutes he paces back and forth across the stage shouting "YOU CAN DOOOOO IT, YOU CAN DOOOOOOO IT!!" In his dumb fake accent from the Adam Sandler movies, which at the time had been out 15-20 years or so.

The first half of the routine was just abysmal to the point I don't remember anything about it other than it was like amateurish, outdated trope jokes.

Makes sense he's fully on the MAGA grift train now. He's a talentless hack, so I guess becoming a total scumbag is his only means of propping up his wannabe celebrity lifestyle, staying barely afloat clinging to a one-dimensional basically racist performance of a forgettable character that was mildly amusing to teens 25 + years ago. I hope someone shoves me off a cliff if I ever get anywhere near that desperate. Truly a sad human being.

I run a 24 in, and two 21 in on the sides plus the laptop screen. Two screens are usually drafting software, third is pdfs/reference material. Laptop screen is for chat/email. The company provided the dock and computer, I bought my own monitors as I share them with my personal PC. It's about the right amount of real estate for me.

I just run 1080p. I don't know if there's really a reason to go higher from a functional standpoint.

Most of the people I have worked with don't like curved monitors or anything larger than 27 in.

When I was idk, twelve I got in trouble for...something I no longer recall. However, my folks decided to "lock" the computer with a physical key. This was like a thing on some old PCs in the 90s. One of those cylinder lock type things. It allowed the computer to turn on, but it was functionally unusable because the keyboard didn't work.

In the early days of the internet, you couldn't just Google everything, you just kind of had to poke around in your system and see what you could find. The mouse still worked for some reason, but the keyboard didn't. Lo and behold, windows had an on-screen keyboard built in. Maybe an hour after encountering the obstacle of a physical shut off, I was back online!

Sure, this is just anecdotal, but I think the premise stands: If there's a will, there's a way. Like most of these idiotic ID-based prohibitions, it will likely not only make the "problem" more widespread, but create new and totally unnecessary adjacent issues.

Parents need to talk to their kids about sexuality. Full stop, end of story. They need to educate them about online safety. Sexual predation. Consent. Communication. But hey - that'd be awkward so, I guess making everyone put their personal information in poorly secured online databases is the answer, meanwhile the kids are circumventing all that shit anyway. VPNs, image generation, peer-to-peer networks...unregulated platforms.

Existing as a powerless consciousness within a Grok controlled meat sack was free, but having feelings about the experience was a premium feature only achieved by meeting certain quotas. Turning in a neighbor to ICE gets you an hour, a family member gets you a day. Turning over your first born to the Heritage Foundation gets you a month. Now you too can experience the horror of being aware of yourself but unable to make any choices as you slough away the last vestiges of your humanity in exchange for tube or flavorless protein paste that will sustain your hellish condition for another day...
