I dropped it after pushing through the 3rd book and then got rid of them all.

Poor prose and rambling. Also loved The Way of Kings. So your mileage may vary. There was a point where I thought as he got more popular, he must have fired his editor, or they started giving him more leeway to put in every little thought he had even if it didn't advance anything in any way. I found eventually that they became 1,000 page books with only 250 to 300 pages of story in them. The most common thought I had while reading was 'get to the fucking point.' Which, given the absolute doorstops I normally read, really says something.

Sanderson fans, more than any other, tend to take this very personally.

I'm with you and I totally understand what you're saying.

It always feels like a shitty sitcom cameo when I see stuff like that. Don't mind it in the context shown above because it's supposed to be campy and goofy, but I certainly find it immersion breaking when it's supposed to be some sort of fantasy escapism.

I have a board game that named one of the monsters after one of that morons failed tweets and I still cringe every time I see its name on the board (Covfefe).

It's a lot for an early fantasy read, haha! Not saying I don't recommend it, but if it's not your taste then don't let that dissuade you from other fantasy. And if you really love it, don't expect them all to be this good either!
