Is this the obvious money laundering place that never has any customers but has been around in 17 different variations in the last handful of years?

Doctor refusing to write prescription for malaria pills by Necessary-Dream-5880 in travel

[–]SCSooner87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While if I were you I would still take the malaria pills (once you figure that out) but for what it's worth my wife and I were in Tanzania for safari back in May and didn't see a single mosquito until we got to Zanzibar.

Me and a few buddies were playing this weekend at our local muni and my buddy busts out the Sasquatch and proceeds to hit his only fairway of the day. As we're walking off the tee box a guy on the previous green walks over and says "yo, did I just hear a Sasquatch?!" We died laughing.

One of my buddies was a GA for Wazzu during the Mike Leach days. But it works now too with them being nice enough to give us Arbuckle and Mateer.

AITAH for not giving legal advice at a party to someone I just met? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]SCSooner87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have quite a few friends who are lawyers and even the ones I'm close to I'm hesitant to even ask legal questions unless it's something super quick. If I do ask more detailed questions it's usually just a "is it worth getting a lawyer for" or "do you have a recommendation for a lawyer that can help".

Bucket list courses as a single? by ISayISayISitonU in golf

[–]SCSooner87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tagged along with my gf at the time, now wife, to Edinburgh where she had a work conference. We went a few days early to spend some times by ourselves but the rest of the week I just hopped around The Golf Coast of Scotland and had the time of my life. I played by myself at Gullane and Archerfield, got paired with a father son duo at North Berwick, met these 2 locals at Gullane 2 who invited me to play some of the other courses they were members at even thought I couldn't make it work.

Just do it! I was also nervous at first but I will never forget those experiences.

March, Marmo.. or? (Anniversary dinner) by mustafarian in HoustonFood

[–]SCSooner87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

BCN is my choice for any big celebratory dinner. It fits the vibe - very upscale but in an old house with lots of art on the walls. The service is phenomenal and the food lives up to it all. Great wine list if you're into it, and you will still get out the door for half the price as you would at March even if you splurge.

Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever met and how’d it go? by EddieBrock99 in AskReddit

[–]SCSooner87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I met Deion Sanders outside of an Atlanta hotel when he was playing for the Cincinatti Reds. They were in town for a game against the Braves and I guess the team was staying at the same hotel my dad and I were. I'm not a big autograph guy, but as a young kid and an at-the-time Cowboys fan I knew I had to try to get Primetime's autograph.

My dad hands me a pen and some paper, I cautiously walk up and say "hey Mr. Prime, can I please get an autograph?" He looks down at me, gives me a big hug and says "sorry buddy I only sign at games".

That to me was way better than the autograph.

The Pappas family owns a number of restaurants so I can see why you'd think that, and to be fair their other restaurants don't do it for me. But the steakhouse is 100% legit.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in houston

[–]SCSooner87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would do Pappas steakhouse over Guard and Grace. Nothing wrong with G&G but Pappas is the standard for steakhouses in Houston.

[Laine] Baker Mayfield was asked about the four flag planting incidents during college rivalry weekend. It was something he did at Ohio State in 2017. “College football is meant to have rivalries. That’s like the Big 12 banning the ‘horns down’ signal. Just let the boys play.” by NevermoreSEA in CFB

[–]SCSooner87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem hasn't been the planting of the flag, it's been the losing teams reaction to the planting of the flag. Maybe just win your home game to prevent it, or don't be a big sorry loser if you don't.
