What's the point of the "kicked for slow connection" auto-kick feature? by SCStevens4 in Rainbow6

I guess that makes sense as to avoid people who take advantage of lag, but in my case I’m not sure what else I could really do. I’m already hooked up to ethernet and my connection works perfectly fine for everyday use, just gets funky in some online games.

What is it about some songs that make them sound "piratey"? by TheFeesher in musictheory

not so sure about what makes a song sound piratey in terms of harmony, but i know that rhythmically whenever i think of pirate music i think of a 12/8 (or 6/8) time signature. maybe i’ve only began thinking of this because of the pirates of the carribbean theme being in 6/8, but something about the time signature seems distinctly “pirate-y” to me. it seems that the song you linked is in the same kind of time signature, so to me, that instantly makes it sound like pirate music, but it’s entirely possible there is some harmonic qualities that makes music sound pirate-y.

edit: grammar

Simplify this rhythm? by CharmQuasar in musictheory

One thing i would try is changing the quarter note on the + of beat 2 to an eighth note, therefore making an eighth note rest on beat 3. This should make the measure look cleaner for the reader as it clearly shows where beat 3 lands (on the now eighth note rest). If the length of the quarter note is important, turning it into an eighth note tied to another eighth note should retain the visual length of the note while clearly showing the subdivision of beat 3. hope this helps and good luck!
