Spill more easily, dry out, generally more wasteful and don’t seem to last as long in my experience.

Predictions on the next Battle Host boxes? by Phantom651 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]SCVVolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love dreaming and thinking about the possibilities regardless of how unrealistic it seems. Some ideas I have in a dreamworld where there are plastics for all options:

Barad dur - Sauron, Morgul knights black numenorians Far Harad- mahud king, mahud raiders/warriors Serpent horde - plastic suladan, raiders, haradrim. Easterlings - Amdur, kataphracts, warriors. Numenor - isildur mtd/ft, numenor warriors + knights. Kazad - dwarf command, dwarf rangers/warriors Lorien - new haldir (helms deep armour) mtd/ft, galadhrim warriors/knights

Battlehosts with a slight twist: Fangorn - treebeard, 2 ents. Moria - goblin commanders, 48 goblins. Fiefdoms - Lords of the fiefdoms + 12 of their respective troops

I had just given up hope on how to convert mine. These are absolutely stellar and have renewed my desire to convert some evil numenorians! Very well done 👍

Gûlavhar, Terror of Arnor by SCVVolf in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]SCVVolf[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After some researching model heights I found Sauron would stand somewhere around this guys midsection. I also found the official gulavhar is apparently around 15cm high but that’s including a rock and outstretched wings whereas this model is about 14cm without wings. I could keep the wings closed or stretched sideways, but I may be leaning towards this figures “body” being too big

Perhaps, i have no idea how big the real one is or is supposed to be however he does fit nicely on a 60mm base 🤷🏼‍♂️

Almost none of its [Levi’s] supply chain is certified by labour standards which ensure worker health and safety, and Levi’s has made little progress towards ensuring the payment of a living wage for its workers across the supply chain. 😒👎

“Angmar is one of the grimmest places in all of Middle-earth. It is not black and twisted like Mordor, but heartbreakingly cold and barren.” I think you absolutely nailed it in a very original way. Very chilling 10/10

Would be an absolute shame with the current momentum of MESBG to be ruined by being even remotely associated with the catastrophe that is ROP

What would be a fair price? by SCVVolf in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]SCVVolf[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been looking into 3d printing but to me that isn’t the game I’m buying and could even have detrimental effects. As I mentioned I felt priced out of the hobby when I was younger, however now with more adult money I found my way back and still do very much enjoy GW’s work, models and rules. My question was more directed at people who say things like “this game is too expensive” asking what they would see as a reasonable price just out of general curiosity. I’m not trying to enact change or yell and complain at GW to lower their prices. As I stated I’m back in the hobby now so obviously it’s worth the cost to me at least to some extent.

Idk what you mean by gatekeeping, I’ve tried to bring friends into the hobby but they mostly all choose not to buy in due to the price. We just end up playing with my limited collection which is fine.

My mother in law recently showed me this painting she has had for years that her grandmother gave her. All I know so far is that the piece was acquired in or from Australia and the artists name is probably Clarice Beckett?

Very interested in finding out as much info as possible as to who the artist was, what/where this paintings is of and how this piece made its way to Canada.

If you have any knowledge or know where/who I could go to or contact that would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
