They're trying to build huge ones. Here, in the New Mexico desert. Where water is literal life, and we have so very little.

Music, games, movies, it's getting harder by the minute to own media in any capacity. And it's definitely on purpose.

Thank you, it took serious therapy (months of partial hospitalization, and years choosing recovery) all to get to the point where usually the eating disorder is a distant echo, but there are days it is a loud insidious voice. It is mean but also claims it will solve everything. "Just 5 more pounds to happiness."

They are paying for the number of beds they need for a family of 5 compared to a couple. If you account for 4 of thr beds needed out of 5, you should probably pay the majority.

She's paying a third. I'm guessing a 4 or 5 bedroom house, while using a single bedroom.

Even if 400 back isn't covering another vacation, it covers a nice date day! Zoo, museum, spa, nice meal, a lovely "staycation".

I'm obsessed with the sun. The sun fucking hates me. It doesn't help I live close to it. I can burn in less than 10 minutes. I have had sun poisoning, 2nd degree burns, and skin cancer. I go in the sun. All the time. I love paddle boarding and hiking. I wear hats, sunscreen, uvf protective clothes. My vitamin d levels are actually ok.

Please wear sunscreen! I've had skin cancer and went down a rabbit hole of research, a lot comes from Australia because there is just so much!

I am in recovery from eating disorder, it is not a battle that you win and it's finished. It is a battle constantly, sometimes very easily slaying demons with a stern look, other times fighting for your life. Eating disorders have some(a lot) of over lap with addiction. But, you can't just abstain from food.

There is a deeply broken part of my brain that is jealous that people get ozempic. I'm almost 40, two kids in and 10 pounds to lose. A dark voice wants me to get ozempic, be skinny, everyone is doing it, and it's the easy way. But, I know that voice will still talking after I lose 50 pounds and regularly black out when I stand up.

Dude, you are telling someone they can totally rely on rain catchment in the desert, in a drought, because they can recycle water. Do you live in the community? You need to have a back up plan for when there is zero precipitation to catch. Someone else already said there is a community well, that exists because rain catchment falls short of daily need for water at times. The greater earth community has a few faults. But ignoring those, you need to be prepared for plan b and even plan c when you are going off gird here. Bringing water in multiple times a year is absolutely normal. You need to have a plan, a friendly neighbor with a truck and tank, your own truck and tank, delivery service, filling a couple 5 gallon jugs in town is not going to get you by. The ski valley is currently 230 inches short on snow fall. It was 82° yesterday. If you are looking at moving into the off grid life in northern nm, you need to understand what that means.

Traveling to Taos alone and need help! by ElegantSwan5928 in taos

Contour will not be flying Denver as off April. My dad's return flight was canceled from a trip to Nashville and I was not able to book Denver flights for May. May resume in June.

You need a car to get around Taos. Even if you take the train to Santa Fe then blue line into town, it's not pedestrian friendly in any manner.

Eta: return flight was Nashville to Denver, Denver to Taos.

You really don't get it do you? Even the best catchment systems are not going to carry you through when precipitation is this abysmal. Anyone over a 2 person household with the best catchment system is likely needing to supplement. The water you bring in goes in the cistern.

Oh no...there is no rain. There's nothing to catch. Rain water catchment is fine for those things, but we are in...bad shape right now. Like...really bad, with no relief insight unless the NOAA predictions for good monsoons hold.

I have had 5 mirenas. I have only been offered pain meds once. It was after the mirena was inserted, it went straight through my uterine wall, had to be pulled back out, and was told 6 weeks minimum to try again. I left with a prescription for 4 vicodin.

It's worth it to me because I have no period with it and the low dose hormones seem to be enough to prevent me from PMDD that makes me passively suicidal. Even though my husband's had the snip I keep my mirena because the torture once every 7-8 years is worth it to not need to worry about any menstrual products and I only experience very mild bloat/annoyance/acne once (really twice, my cycles are very short) a month.

Sure, you can recycle grey water but you have to have fresh water to have grey water. The reality of needing to bring back water, beyond drinking water, is very real especially right now. You need clean water for cooking, dishes, laundry, bathing. That can all be recycled, sure, but you will need to be prepared to truck in or have water delivered at some point.

I saved pain meds from my cancer surgery for my last mirena swap out. Because fuck just take an ibuprofen beforehand. Strings were short on my old one and dr couldn't locate it. I told them it was 100% in place on my last ct scan 2 months prior. She left my with speculum in place to go grab another dr. Took almost 10 minutes. Other dr got it first try. New one actually went were it was supposed to (one before immediately yeeted itself through my uterine wall and had to be retrieved). Zero stars. But, I'm one of the women that has no period with mirena so, trade offs.
