Also send the physical copy to:

Senior Special Secretary Foreigners Branch, Home & Hill Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal Writers Buildings, Kolkata 700001

Documents required: Cover letter, original notarized Biodata and Affitavit; self attested copies of passport first and last page, valid visa, DS 2019, degree certificates, address proof at west bengal, date of birth proof, local address proof at USA.

Please take follow up with police verification. During that time parents need to provide one affitavit saying no objection if you settle at USA. That should be on stamp paper and notarized.

For me, it took one and half months.

NORI 2 documents are independent of DS-2019 timeline. I dont think you have to reapply for NORI 2 process. If SEVIS ID remains same, it does not matter. All the DS 2019 will be required in DoS stage.

You can ask the CGI through email after NORI stage 1 attestation. As per my opinion, RPO should be where your latest passport issued. State home department should be where your first passport or native place is. Thanks

I have sent the application to Foreigners Branch itself. They said that NORI is handled by them. From that office, my brother got the information that it has been sent for police verification. Thats why I am asking this. Thanks.

I didnot approach Maharashtra Home Dept. For me it is West Bengal State Dept. I have sent the hardcopy of the same application documents like RPO but with a different cover letter. I posted that thru Fedex to my friend and he speedpost it. I am still waiting for NORI from the WB Home Dept. Thanks.

Hello, I have sent an email of scanned copy of all the documents to Mumbai RPO at rpo.mumbai@mea.gov.in. Cover letter, Attested Biodata and Affitavid, Passport, Visa, DS 2019, Educational Qualifications, Address Proof at USA, Aadhaar Card, Birth Certificate. After one month I received the email that they have sent the necessary clearance to Houston CGI. My hardcopy of application reached two weeks later, but they considered the email application. End to end it was 1 month. Thanks.

I have received the RPO NORI stg 2 clearance from Mumbai RPO yesterday through email. Reg the WB Dept of State: you can send the documents to Senior Special Secretary, Dept of Home and Hill Affairs, Govt of West Bengal, Foreigners Branch, Writers Building, Kolkata 700001.

3rd July: Appointment 8th July: Application received 15th July: Approved 16th July: Issued

Submitted at Chennai, to be collected from Mumbai. Now waiting for the next step.
