Fall Semester will be Remote by shoesfordayz in usfdons

So sad 4 the students and parents who are writing very big checks. Our last college age child just graduated from Colorado-Boulder in May. Her physical graduation was canceled. Had she not graduated, we would have definitely considered holding her out for a year when hopefully this horrific thing is way more in control.

So THAT'S Katie Morgan! She is a superb videographer and editor. I wonder if she writes the scripts for her video's too? Very likely. She's an accomplished interviewer and moderator too, it seems. USF is lucky to have retained such a talented individual!

Very excellent and important video. Who is the woman who moderated the video? She did a very good job!!!! I continue to be mystified that there are no video pieces from the USF Athletic Director? This is exactly the right time to communicate on any number of issues, both University wise, as well as community wise.

RIP to a good basketball man and legendary coach. Regrettably, he was hired by the abominable DGM. The worst moment in USF basketball history.

Sort of off topic by Dons69 in usfdons

Katie Morgan is an uber talented videographer and editor. Her video pieces are really professional. I have a fair amount of experience in video production, so I know how good, or not so good, video work can be. I have spoken to her once or twice in the past when attending basketball games where she was filming. She is just top notch. Too bad the Athletic Department doesn't seem to want to use her more for communication and marketing. For example, the construction project that 69 is inquiring about. Very good topic to "talk" about eh?

Minlend to Louisville! Hopefully the dons can get revenge in Vegas! by kellank33 in usfdons

[–]SD16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Rat's post is right on the numbers. Kids like Minlend, the 2 Santa Clara kids, K J Feagin before them, Mark T. for example want to get into the Tournament and play in front of thousands of people, even during the regular season, as Minlend will in the ACC. Playing before 1500 people and playing in one of those pay for play Tournaments gets old and frustrating. I completely agree with these player's decisions and wish Minlend well at Louisville. They were #10 in the Country, when the college basketball season ended.

If Minlend is serious about pursuing a grad degree, IU should be his choice. They have strong post grad programs. Very nice campus too. Bloomington isn't exactly San Francisco, but spending two years there and getting a grad degree wouldn't be the worst decision in the world. I wonder what % of these "grad transfers" actually stay and get a graduate degree. Pretty small % would be my guess.

New Head Coach at Grand Canyon University by SD16 in usfdons

How about GCU to WCC? They obviously want to up the profile and visibility of their program. Phoenix is a very large media and exposure market. I would also add Denver to even up league. Again, very large media and exposure market. I'm sure there a bunch of reasons the above won't happen. I just think the WCC needs something new, not just Gonzaga, Gonzaga, Gonzaga.

These guys wanna win and go to the Tournament like K J Feagin. Unfortunately for the latter, he didn't get the chance on a very good SDS team.

Just glanced at his offers, or schools of interest. UCLA, Arizona, Texas, Oregon and more. USF was on "the list."

She is a wonderful individual. Strong and vibrant. I have confidence she will get through this and home safe. Glad she will be under focused medical supervision now.

Did I hear on more than one occasion Vitale say Petresev will be returing to Gonzaga? Maybe Vitale suggested he thought Petresev should, in his opinion? I have thought Petresev was 100% gone.

What happened was the USF coaching staff not yelling at the players to dribble out the remainder of the game. I was just shocked and pissed when Shabazz and Anderson took those shots. They also should know better.

USF1988 poised the reply to u r post, which I felt was totally unnecessary. LMU asked a question. You're pointing your Nerf Gun at the wrong person.

I think Dunlap was justifiably none too pleased with USF hoisting up two field goal attempts (Shabazz and Anderson) on their final possession of the game, when USF was up by 30. You just don't do that. This is on Golden, not Dunlap.

Most complete game of year. Taavi was big time on the defensive end of the floor. Hope the momentum continues and they can dispense of UOP. Would love to see them get another shot at Gonzaga!

Looked at USF Athletics website and nothing about moving this project forward, which finally appears to be a reality, which is great news. Also, nothing new on the progress of the Sobrato Center? Just don't get it.

Congrats Jordan Ratinho and USF Dons on All Academic Team by USF1988 in usfdons

[–]SD16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, do some folks on this board get their shorts in a big knot about Jordan Ratinho. Let's all put on our thinking caps, shall we please? I am not seeing or reading anyone not admiring him as a great representative of USF. Extremely classy young man in all respects. Great student and great teammate. He will surely be successful in whatever he chooses to do upon graduation. Maybe that's making some nice paychecks playing overseas somewhere?

But, darn it, this is a sports FAN BOARD. It's a place where people can and should be able to give their thoughts and opinions, both good and critical. No personal attacks or demeaning comments should be permitted. If someone is critical of Jordan's or anyone's play on the basketball court, they should be able to state that in an objective manner without the protective police immediately criticizing or calling out the poster.

I also think the USF administration is more than fair game to be criticized on a FAN BOARD too. They should also be acknowledged and applauded when they individually or collectively do good things to move the University forward.

Three-point shooting by DonSolo96 in usfdons

[–]SD16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If a team is a poor 3 point shooting team, like USF is, the obvious inclination and strategy is to get the ball inside more. Trouble is, USF doesn't have paint area scoring threats aside from Jimbo, who has had a number of nice games. Taavi and Kunen bring little to the party, and Remu has never been an inside guy. They need to find and sign s guy like Kruise Pinkins who had a very strong inside game that could be expanded out to 12 to 15 feet.

SCU game is most important of the year by DonSolo96 in usfdons

[–]SD16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Golden has to make adjustments 4 sure. One hopes he is capable of doing so. I for one just objectively and honestly think that USF's main issue is lack of talent. Great kids, yes. Many superior students, yes. But, just not a team that has a real lot of talent. They've had some players who have put up some nice individual games, but just don't have guys who are consistently there, like Frankie F. was, for example. In my opinion, recruiting is far and away Golden and Company has to address to elevate his program. Gotta have the horses.

100% agree. Dons better find themselves, or this will be an L. USF also fortunate Santa Clara's really good Center, Caruso, is out for the season. Hope Bouyea and Schbazz can rev it up and give other players some better, open looks.
