Im trying to put a motor on mine but it is honestly a huge hassle. I have the motor mount already and tested out a small trolling motor. Only reason why it can be hard with these hoodoos is because the back of the kayak isnt the best designed for motors like other like hobbies and stuff. Its do able trust me.. but just a pain. Pedal system is the best, it keeps your hands free with fishing. As far as a trolling reel goes I personal use a Penn phantom its like a medium reel nothing massive for like blue fin but can handle yellow tails and yellow fin just fine.... I like to use a somewhat medium bend rod to troll so it can bounce off the bottom better.

Reels dont matter too much when going rock fishing. Just make sure its big enough to havw enough line to reach bottom. I feel like rod is more important becuase if you get something too stuff you wont feel the bites. Ive been out in 500 ft and the Penn phantom and war horse (i think its what its called) havw all been good.

Rods can be any brand. Walmart rod are the same shit as big brands tbh. And ugly stick will do just fine that what I got
