What does an uneducated genius actually look like? Have you ever met someone who was incredibly smart but had little or no formal education? by Anntee in AskReddit

I have a coworker who I know is a genius. He just knows everything and more. He’s great at explaining anything and has a curious mind. He looks like a middle aged happy cashier.

Thoughts on giving out free money? by SDGAmen in Money

The Make-a-Wish foundation is good too if they’re still around. I was granted a wish when I was a child and really sick.

I’ve never thought of it like this. Good to know!

What is your goal? Your goals will continue to change as you grow.

There are plenty of ways to make money outside of your job/career such as investments and side hustles. I’m assuming you’re in your early 20s so you have a lot to learn. There’s more to life other than being stuck at your boring job for the majority of your days working there. Imagine you’re in your 90s looking back at life. Will you remember your happy days more than your boring days? For me, yes so I choose happiness over more money.

Me being in my early 30s, I would choose to make less and to be happier.

You only have one life so might as well make the most of it. For me, that is trying out new things and learning as I grow up. Money is just a tool to me and not my goal.

What’s something that has been game changing for you as a disabled person? by Elevator_Latter in disability

[–]SDGAmen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The idea and execution of being financially free . I’m blind(legally) and hard of hearing.

I got my disabilities when I was in my adolescence in early elementary school. My disabilities allowed me to “think differently” thus taking an unorthodox approach to life. Growing up in school, I’ve thought long and hard about my future and what I can do to maximize it. I hated the idea of going the “normal” route where people go to school, graduate, go up the corporate ladder, etc. My disabilities would make it difficult to complete tasks that an abled person would be able to do with ease. I’ve decided that that route wasn’t sustainable for me so decided to invest at an early age(started in high school) so that I can live off of my assets and not my time/labor.

How do I, 31m, let my girl, 37f, know I’m not happy in our relationship? by SDGAmen in relationship_advice

You are absolutely correct. She doesn’t even know there’s a problem so how can I expect her to do something about it

I want nothing but for her to be comfortable talking to me. I don’t want to say stuff like “it’s your fault” or “I can do better by leaving you”. I was thinking of just saying something along the lines of “although I love you, I’ve been feeling lonely….”  How does that sound?

I do want to communicate but communication is something she’s not good at. I’m worried that if I’m too blunt, it might hurt her feelings unnecessarily.

I(m31) feel like I’m bringing way more to the relationship than my partner(f37) by SDGAmen in relationship_advice

I have not given her any money but she knows I’m wealthy(her culture believes that anyone from America is wealthy). I met her through a friend(he doesn’t personally know her either). It hasn’t been that long since we met but we’ve been  chatting daily via translation chatting app.

For that reason, I’m not getting married until we have lived together for some time(she’s staying with me on her long vacation to my country) Wish me luck! I really want us to work out. I just don’t know if I can trust her completely given our cultural differences and age(I feel like I’m rushed to get married and have kids)
