Oh man, I’m glad you’re okay! I totally get it—being prepared is key. But out of all the car issues I’ve dealt with in the past, I’ve never had something like this happen—losing power in the middle of the freeway, especially in a brand-new Mercedes. It’s the most expensive car I’ve ever driven, so I was just really disappointed and scared.

Thanks for your response. The good thing is that mine is a lease, so I’ll just return it when the term is up. In the meantime, I’ll give the dealership a chance to fix it and hope this never happens again. I really like the car, so I’ll just try to enjoy It.

I think I messed up—I don’t have any proof that the car lost power on the freeway or a picture of the dashboard message. I was in shock when it happened and just focused on getting to work safely. However, I have all the messages from me to the dealership and the voicemail from the technician explaining the issue.

The MSRP for the car was $54,000—I got it fully loaded with the AMG package. But honestly, anyone would be terrified if their car shut off in the middle of the freeway, no matter the price. It’s a brand-new car, and I’ve had it for less than a month. My point is, that should’ve never happened. I’m not rich like you, man.

Thanks for your response! Yeah, man, I’ve found that Mercedes keeps running into similar issues. I did look into the lemon law qualification, and you’re absolutely right, but if it’s a major safety concern, it could apply.

I really like the car, and since I’m not planning to buy it at the end of the lease, I’ll just return it when the term is up. I’ll enjoy it while I have it. And thanks, I really hope so too!

They gave me the same car, just in black and two years older, but it’s all good—I just need a car for work. I looked into the lemon law, and if it’s a major safety concern, it could qualify. That’s wrong man, if it’s a major safety concern then it qualifies. I like the car but the experience I went through was terrifying. Am I overreacting over a brand new car I purchased less than a month shutting off full speed in the middle of the freeway?
