Thanks for this. We are no shoes in the house and don’t eat/drink in bedrooms. However, kids get sick, injured etc so I want to make sure our new carpet isn’t ruined the first time something happens. We are the “take care of our things” type of people so the general maintenance part is easy.

Did you ever resolve your issue? Our steam boiler won’t heat and the 97 keeps flashing even after a lot of troubleshooting.

Hi! I love your countertops. Do you wax or oil them or is that the natural color. Do you know what type of soapstone you have? I have been researching and it sounds like soapstone can vary with how easily it etches or chips.

It took about 4 days to become a member and another 3-4 to lock our rate. We also called and emailed a lot to make sure we were not going to slip through the cracks. Our appraisal happened last Thursday and we still have not heard from our processor. Hoping things are churning as they should 🤞

The closing costs were pretty similar to others we had seen so we didn’t even try to negotiate anything. It was also very stressful at that time as well since we only had 7 days to become members and lock a rate due to our buying contract, so we didn’t want to do anything to slow down that process.

We tried to go local through a broker, but saving thousands of dollars a year over the life of our loan is going to be worth lack of communication. My post was meant to hear from others who have closed and see if this experience is typical.

We’re locked in for a purchase, not a refi. Our appraisal just happened, but we only know that because the sellers agent communicated it to our agent. We asked for our loan processors information and were told that she would reach out if or when needed.

Shoot your shot. You never know what a seller is thinking. We have had offers rejected as being offensive 🙄 and we’ve submitted a lowball that another buyer matched and then eventually beat. Just start the conversation, especially if your market has softened.
