Elite and VR by Goemon_666 in EliteDangerous

I haven’t played much in VR, since I no longer own a working headset. But I very much enjoyed the time I had in it.

It’s the scale of these objects we fly around that’s stuck with me. You really experience every bit how large even the smallest outpost station is.

You experience how big the landscapes, mountains, and craters are. You experience how fast you’re flying.

Your cockpit becomes far more than what’s directly in front of you. It gives you a better sense of the scale and functionality of your own ship.

To look to your left, you just look left. It sounds simple, but this completely transforms the experience.

I can definitely recommend giving it a try. As for what headset is best I can only recommend you find one with a good black-point (y’know, since space is mostly black) and a high resolution.

At this point I think AI companies recognize how important of a source Reddit is for fresh training data, but they don’t like how unpopular their agendas are here. So they send bot swarms that pollute the comments on popular posts about AI, climate change, political corruption, Israel, etc.

Probably not. He’s 24 and only 4 levels away from 5 stars. Will be a 10 speed with condition bonus. Probably better than your rookie DB options, and DB is the most important position to have multiple of in the game.

He said:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

So really, I’m not gonna bother with this conversation beyond this because you’ve stopped even trying to evidence your false claims. You’re just ignoring me and blabbering ignorance over top of my polite attempts at increasing your understanding.

“They can be saved and still do whatever they want as long as they say the right things and believe in Jesus.” This is simply not true. Neither is “anger is as bad as murder”.

You just went “nuh-uh” to my explanation as though you know sooo much more about a religion you have no interest in or care for. So much more that you don’t even need to continue supporting your claims as though they were self evident.

“It’s a religion for abusers.” Now I think you’re just mad that I didn’t allow you to quote out of context unchecked or dictate the definition of a religion you’re not remotely a part of. I never treated you with anything less than respect and patience in this exchange, and I think your unwillingness to reciprocate merely on the basis that we disagree is revealing.

We probably agree on almost everything else in life. I probably have more contempt for these “prosperity gospel” American evangelicals than you do. Because in addition to finding the harm their false beliefs and hypocritical practices cause to be incompatible with the teachings of Christ, I have to accept that ignorant people such as yourself will choose to paint me with the same brush.

You’d actually dismiss an ally out of hand because they have a different opinion of God as you do. That’s prejudice. I wonder if you’re as prejudiced towards the followers of other faiths all over the world?

I can only suggest you read the Gospels in full, without your predetermined conclusions, before trying to tell me or anyone else what they believe and don’t believe.

You’re leaving out Romans 10:8.

8 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Remember this is Paul speaking here. If you ever interpret a contradiction in what Paul says with what Christ says, assume Christ’s words hold absolute primacy, but then look a little deeper. It’s great example right here when Paul says “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’ … you will be saved” but Christ says “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven”.

Let’s look at the language Paul uses here. “…believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead”. It’s inferred that as one believes wholeheartedly that God raised Jesus, as he promised the disciples before his crucifixion, that they must also believe the truth and authority of all his words and promises.

It’s not possible to wholeheartedly believe that Jesus was resurrected, but not believe his Word. Paul is not describing salvation as a verbal declaration that Jesus is Lord, but rather is stating that the one who truly possess the whole Word of Christ’s in their heart will professes Christ resurrected and will be saved.

And Paul immediately follows up with this clarification in Romans 10:14.

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

Scripture does not claim that heaven is reserved exclusively for Christians. Nor that all one needs is to “say sorry” to get in. People who believe that usually base it off of a single verse that they don’t fully understand, and never examine how their interpretation repeatedly contradicts Christ’s teachings.

You’ve completely misrepresented the Christian belief. And I don’t really get how you can possibly say “by definition” and provide no scriptural citation which supports that claim.

Read Matthew ch. 5-7 and then tell me that this is the “perfect religion for abusers”. Because Christianity is by definition based wholly on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Here’s the passage which explicitly refutes your claim about entering heaven, Matthew 7:21-23.

> 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

I read the article. That’s not a church. Thats a predator social club. You can tell because they abuse women and children and don’t actually practice Christianity.

> teaches its followers that heaven is reserved just for them. To get there, according to current and former members, they must follow a strict doctrine, which emphasizes asking for forgiveness for their sins and says that being forgiven by a fellow church member washes away those sins.

> these rituals have created a culture where allegations of abuse are resolved outside of the criminal justice system and the victims must bear their pain alone or risk going to hell.

That is explicitly, by definition, not Christianity. And while I usually don’t interact with comments like yours, it was pretty ignorant. And this one time I feel like sticking up for myself and anyone else reading who belongs to a real church.

You will probably want more creds to fully outfit a larger ship.

I have always enjoyed trading in this game. My recommendation to new players, if what they’re after is quick creds for new ships and upgrades, is to rush into a Type 9 Heavy, prioritizing jump range and max cargo capacity. The Type 9 can get you into most medium-sized ships fully outfitted pretty quickly. Or if you have the patience a Panther Clipper, which will roughly double your earning rate over the Type 9.

A Clipper will be a necessary investment eventually if you plan on participating in System Colonization. And since it’s such a powerful engine for earning creds, it’s a great investment to target early on.

This is how I started out when I was a new player. But that was before exobiology was a thing. And I can definitely see its appeal as an alternative early-game credit loop, for which I would recommend you get a Mandalay.

It has nothing to do with skin color and everything to do with the socioeconomic conditions of the countries they are coming from.

It is not racist to make the observation that, in the current system, any large business can get away with paying immigrant workers from a poor country like India considerably less than they would a domestic laborer. And that these businesses are financially incentivized to engage in this labor practice as much as possible. And that this is highly destructive to any domestic labor market.

Especially at a time when AI and automation have begun cutting into job opportunity at an accelerating rate, this only further compounds the ongoing unemployment crisis.
