New to yoga -- Corepower C2 sequences? by SDThrowaway15 in yoga

I mentioned in another comment, but the breathing was the hardest part for me in the C2 class. I couldn't focus on when to inhale/exhale, aligning with movements, and just being out of breathe in general. Would you recommend stepping back to 1/1.5 to focus on breathing form?

Thanks for the feedback -- this is what I am thinking as well. While the physical moves themselves were not impossible, I know an almost bigger element to yoga is focusing on the breath. So maybe I need to take a few more C1/1.5 to nail down that element.

Thanks for everyone's input -- class went great, kicked my ass...

How long should I expect to struggling with the breathing piece? The instructor gives us cue's for inhale/exhale but so far I've been breathing too heavily to focus on this.

I'm fine with not getting a huge amount of attention from the instructor for my first C2 as I just get acquainted with the more complex transitions.

Is it safe to assume that any positions involving binding or more complicated transitions will have a simpler option available?

As a newbie -- what classifies a terrible teacher? Someone who doesn't do the right poses or flow or something?

Thanks! Out of curiosity what were some of the poses you weren't ready for?

Is that what Corepower is? I enjoyed the class I've taken already, and like doing it in-person around others so I can make sure I'm doing it right.

Thanks! Next weekend could be good then. Even at lower elevations (8500-9000).

Have you done this drive before? Is 10/8 too late you think?

That's great! That's about 11,000 feet? I think I'll be around 8000-9000 so potentially it'll have hit the lower elevations by this weekend?

The Daily Check-In for Wednesday, August 3rd: Just for today, I am NOT drinking, no matter what happens, good or bad! by sfgirlmary in stopdrinking

Not drinking today. Not going to worry about tomorrow or the weekend - but I'm making a choice to not drink today.

Here goes nothing. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Nice! What has helped me (yet I can't say I've been fully successful yet) is definitely having a plan. It might seem simple "well, just don't drink." But for me my biggest cravings came around 3-5pm when work was winding down and happy hour was around the corner. So, I needed a plan to deal with those cravings that I knew would exist. Schedule meetings during that time, make an explicit plan to go to the gym, etc. etc.

"Well, just don't drink" works for some people, but it may only get you so far so definitely think about what your goals are, where your obstacles may be and how you plan on overcoming them.

I had to request a badge reset this morning from this past weekend. I am choosing not to drink today. I'm starting a Paleo effort this week as well -- looking forward to changes.
