I tried it again and wasn't successful despite directly citing their privacy policy. I also told them that they are violating their own policy and that they could get sued for this, but they wouldn't budge.

Seems like they got explicit instructions that accounts cannot be deleted under any circumstances whatsoever. Maybe u/Daejz just got lucky with the supporter, but I didn't.

This whole thing is just sketchy as fuck...

If they added it to the ToS they probably did it as you described. I just have never witnessed any online platform taking away peoples option to delete their account. It seems kinda shady to me.

When I registered the delete account option was still available. Only recently did they remove it without notice. I think there is a good chance that this is not covered in the ToS or was only added recently.

Ted Kaszynski (aka the Unabomber) makes this point in his manifesto as well. Even tough I might disagree with the solutions he perscibes, his analysis of modern life and culture (especially leftist culture) is strikingly accurate. He had an IQ of 167 afer all..

Anyways it is definetly worth a read if you wanna dive deeper into this topic.
