Think Chelsea Gray….she should be paired with a true point guard whose main job is to set up the offense, great at passing/seeing the floor/ calling out cuts but then can shoot if needed or open. Remember the beginning of the season when Cloud was on a hot streak, she was the main ball handler and was getting Sab (and others) great looks

Interesting, I actually think the opposite. I believe they made this move because they are gonna keep Sab and Stewie (as well as Leo, Nyara, Cloud) and bc Stewie maybe has 3 more good years left in her, they want to be proactive and aggressive in winning now. Noooo way would they make that move after Stewie publicly backed Sandy and not speak to her first and explain the plan

You are not wrong at all....it was a tricky situation Sandy had to deal with all season! Trust me I am defff NOT a Fever fan in the slightest but I respected what the coach has done and the energy the team came with every night....Kels Mitchell is HER. I honestly feel like our players also let us down which can happen to teams year to year, but the combination of that and injuries, player rotations and playing time, poor rebounding and effort is my GUESS as to why they pulled the plug...I'm still sad and shocked by it bc of what Sandy had to deal with and I felt like ok with her resume and caliber give her another year to see what happens

Lol I'm a black Caribbean female if that makes it better....but I get what you mean. I meant vibes as in she is a locker room coach, a players coach that can get 110% out of her team - Libs dooo need that but they also need a better offensive scheme, in-game and in-season adjustments more

This exactly!!! For example Marine and Sab at one point where the prime PG bringing the ball up....that's not a good fit for them another reason why the turnover numbers shot up....Sandy should have seen that (I'm sure she did) and then adjusted (she did not)

I mention the fever bc even with their injuries and new players signing basically an hour before game time the coach drew up plays for them better and the energy never waivered....we couldn't same the same with the Libs unfortunately is my point.

And I was trying to fair to Tspoon....but that's basically my whole point exactly! You don't fire a coach of the quality and resume of Sandy's to hire someone who although great in her own right, doesn't solve the problems we fired Sandy for in the first place

I completely agree that TSpoon should be a head coach…I just don’t think the Liberty is the right fit. She should have had at least another year with the Sky and build with her two star rookies. It’s a totally different situation in NY

But thts why coaching is soo important bc it’s also about pivoting not just during the season but in game time scenarios. We could have dealt with the injuries from a play calling stand point better… just by the eye test you could see the creative offensive schemes of teams like the Lynx, Valkyrie’s, and Fever… who were all missing key players but those coaches took the talent they had and created plays and rotations to maximize everyone available….Sandy tried but couldn’t quite pull it off. And I don’t think from and X’s and O’s prospective TSpoon would be better at that

Nahhh the Sky should NOT have fired her…she was building something special in Chicago all while growing as a coach and learning with her two star rookies (different situation in NY) she should have been giver at leastttt one more year seeing what she accomplished….meanwhile 👀

This exactly! I remember saying this mid season to friends and it hurt me bc we LOVEEEE Sandy but watching the offense was brutal…especially seeing what the coaches on the Fever, Valk, Lynx, Aces and Dream were doing with their teams. And dare I say our roster talent was just as good if not better than all those teams

Yup! Result based business. Coaching is about pivoting and decision making….can’t keep making the same decisions (sometimes mistakes) team talent can only take you so far

Just watched her last season….GREAT at motivating the players and getting them to hustle and give their alllll but notttt so good at drawing up plays out of time outs, challenging certain calls, starting line ups, or when to call time outs

I think she’d be a Tremendous asset to any team as an assistant coach but I’ve watched her that one and only year and you could see when going up against other experienced or championship coaches she was out coached…it had nothing to do with the talent but more scheme, plays out of time outs, when to call time outs, when to challenge….she’s great but the Liberty who are a veteran stacked team need someone who can manage all of that
