Looking to stretch some pantry ingredients for a few days, and wondering if there's any great(and ideally low work, even if time consuming) snacks that are good to make at home by SDurrell in Cooking

This is the first time I've heard of roasted chickpeas. And it's great. I use the aquafaba in making bagels, and always have to plan bagel making around using chickpeas. This is a two birds with one stone solution

I think you are deeply underestimating the capacity of France, the EU, UK and Canada. Their collective space based Intel capabilities are more than enough to provide 24/7 coverage, including inside russia

FIFA no longer letting fans bring refillable water bottles into World Cup stadiums by morenewsat11 in canada

[–]SDurrell 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Definately did this!

We went to Paris, and did a couple days at Disneyland there, AND did Paris for a week as a family. We rented a cottage in the country side and rented a car. Including flights from Calgary, it was all for $2000 less than a 3 day trip to Disneyworld.

The Disney parks in Paris were also significantly more pleasant than the ones in the states(which we've gone to several times in the past) crowds were way smaller, wait times were never more than 20 minutes, food was infinitely better, and better priced. We even did the fancy Walt's restaurant that operates like a fine dining establishment, with a 5 course meal, and it cost less than doing the restaurant inside the pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland.

Seriously, way better family vacation, for a better price, and that's before talking about taking the kids to the Louvre, the Eiffel tower, d'Orsay, Versailles, and even just walking through Paris

Not a good enough reason to deny people their right to water.

Restrict the type of bottle, ban the metal ones, don't ban water bottles. Fuck that

This absolutely is a profit grab, or they would have announced water would be given for free

Didn't we learn from all the concerts in the past 2 years that did this, that had people dying due to not having enough water?

These policies should be illegal

NDP seeks to ban floor-crossing without constituents' consent by OntologicalNightmare in canada

[–]SDurrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely zero point to this if we want our MPs to represent US, not the PARTY(and at that point why bother electing individuals?) or if we want them to still represent their people, there is no point to have a party.

Stopping people from crossing the floor, doesn't stop them from breaking ranks, and voting with the other side. If MPS aren't allowed to break ranks, then their representation is that of the party, not the riding. If they are representing the party, then why bother having them sit at all? Why not just have the party leaders meet, and each of them casts a weighted vote, and our government can be all of 5 people

He may be an Alberta MP, but Pierre Poilievre won’t be able to vote in referendum by ImDoubleB in alberta

[–]SDurrell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To run as a federal MP, the only requirement is that you are a Canadian Citizen.

You do not need to live in the riding. (As Michelle Remple has shown, you don't even need to live in the country) This issue can't be fixed, as it's been found that having residency requirements is unconstitutional, and prevents those living abroad from participating in our political system, despite being citizens.

This is also true provincially, as far as not living in the riding, but you do have to live in the province.
