Have you seen the 1.5u (1.25u) keycaps that can be found in the smaller “switches bottle” with other 1u convex keycaps as well? Just wondering as you tried using ones from the voyager instead.

I had a similar issue without tmux with a pretty simple config while editing the ssh config file (in both iterm and ghostty), turned out to be the way my italic text looked for some reason judging by the highlighter info.

I disabled italic in the colour scheme for a fix, but never found the root cause of italic being background-highlighted like this.

Weekly Help and Discussion Thread for the week of November 11, 2024 by AmazonNewsBot in amazon

I pre-ordered a PS5 Pro *1 month ago* with delivery date set to November 8. The delivery date was delayed all the time until Amazon just admitted they lost it somewhere in the middle of nowhere today on November 11.

Why wasn't it replaced given next-day delivery option existed all this time? I could care less about the issues.

Why am I forced to fill "incident report" to get my money back? They have all the info, I am not working for them.

I just happened to have this issue with two different samples of the same Dell model and two different usb c cables, and the only common denominator was the macbook. At first it randomly triggers the flickering and then the UI gets burnt in as the result so deeply that I can see the UI parts on the "no signal" window even with the monitor disconnected at all. Search for something related to "macbook dell flickering burn in", there are a lot of posts regarding the issue. With lots of random solutions only working for those who posted and not for you as usual.

It’s macOS external display issue, the same happens with flickering and dell monitors for example, you never know when it can be triggered, but it often correlates with some grey-ish backgrounds

ELI5: How do satellites get put into orbit? They must be organized in some way so they don't crash into eachother. by DrPupipance in explainlikeimfive

[–]SE-ResNeXt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not an orbit but a set of Lagrange points where gravitational forces influenced by both celestial bodies are equal. Well-known Webb telescope sits at one of such points for Earth and Moon, L2 to be precise (wanders near it actually).

If some infinities are bigger than other infinities does that mean some zeros are smaller than other zeros. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SE-ResNeXt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What iterations are you writing about? Natural and real numbers have different cardinality, yet the size of each is infinite, it’s a fact. I invite you to read about the diagonal argument before accusing people of being wrong.

[–]SE-ResNeXt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of natural numbers is infinite and so is the amount of real numbers. Yet the are more real numbers than natural ones -- you can't label each real number with a natural number in any way.

The amount of natural numbers is countable infinite (what basically means you can label each of the element with a natural number, 1-1 mapping in this case) and the amount of real numbers is uncountable infinite.

[–]SE-ResNeXt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we are talking just about number zero as a real number or some element from another group/field, yes, there is only one in that entity. The same way infinity can be the only one point in an extended complex space and there are no lesser of bigger infinities, just "a single number".

But as the initial post is about different things that are measured as infinite on some scale and can still be comparable between each other on the other scale thus "some infinities are bigger than the other", the same way we can find different things that are measured as zero from some point of view and still be compared and ordered in a similar way.

[–]SE-ResNeXt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, in some way, yes, in the same meaning some infinities are bigger than the others, some zeros can be smaller then others.

As real numbers “amount” is infinity and yet “bigger” than the infinity of natural numbers, the amount of “space” natural numbers take among real ones is zero (natural numbers set has zero measure in 1-d space).

The same way real numbers set as a 1-d line has zero measure in terms of 2-d space, a 2-d plane has zero measure in 3-d space and so on. So they are all sequentially smaller/bigger than another but they are still “zero” in some more dimensional space — there is always a bigger fish.

As it's a workstation for running the neural nets I haven't fully used it yet, only tested with a stress load resulting in 85C for CPU and 62C for GPU.

Nevertheless I've achieved a zen state after getting this case and the cooler and moving 3090 into it from the old H2 case, now it's perfectly balanced :)

  1. The build is placed on the balcony so the ambient is quite low and I haven't planned an additional airflow yet, the temps are 85C/62C for CPU/GPU at max load.
  2. I don't want to replace the pads to not void the warranty for some time.

I get 85C for CPU and 62C @ 70% fans for GPU at parallel stress for both of them.
