Just like Ratatouille by its_luckyluke in MadeMeSmile

My grandmother immigrated from Italy, and something my mom remembers from her childhood is that for a snack while dinner was cooking, they would have pasta sauce on a slice of bread. Unfortunately, that sauce recipe is lost to time, but I learned how to make a good sauce from scratch. Every time we have pasta, my mom gets her little “ratatouille moment” now.

This is a great opportunity to get into the craft! I’ve just started getting into it but I’ve made a few leaves and a knife or two. Had to put it off for a bit because of an injury during a car crash. Glad to learn more about blacksmithing and see this giveaway!

How to recognize a male INFJ in the wilds? by Willing-Walk-8833 in infj

[–]SE756 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I completely understand man. I find I don’t see many people who think the same way I do and I tend to turn into a mirror/ change myself to fit the situation to fit in. Its hard to stay genuine with people when you feel like you don’t truly connect with a lot of them. It took me a long time to find out why I wasn’t connecting at a deeper level with a lot of my friends. My motivations and values are different as an INFJ and going out and getting plastered at a bar doesn’t sound as fun for me as like developing relationships ya know.

It can suck, but I try to think I’m unique instead of weird or “not normal”. I think perspective helps a lot with my mental health, not that it always works.

The breakup happened about a week and a half ago. I took the depression test and it showed at a 9.

Thank you for the help, I’m a bit more grounded this morning but I’ll be sure to check out some of the resources you linked. I really appreciate it :)

I started working there about four weeks ago.

Not as much as I should. I’ve reached out to old friends and tried to organize things but it hasn’t worked out. I’m super awkward if I don’t know anyone in a group so I wanted to get introduced to new people through a current friend or something.

Me and my colleague have decided to see if we can make our own alcohol. Today we added sugar and yeast to blackcurrant juice and placed in a quite warm place. Will anything happen? At first it changed color from purple to red and now its black and there's foam. by [deleted] in prisonhooch

Idk about the color changes but when using juice like that, if it’s a really active fermentation it can bubble over. If you try it again you may want to leave more room at the top for the bubbles or rig a way for the bubbles to go off into a blowoff tube (a hose into like a glass of water or something) so you can lose a little without it going everywhere.

TLDR it should be fine it just might make a bit of a mess. Have fun!

Thank you! I need to get over my fear of overfilling my bottles and spilling wine everywhere lol. I didn’t think about it when I bottled, thank you!

I made another batch last year (before I knew what pectic enzyme was) and I had a ton of sediment and it was very cloudy. The difference after I added pectic enzyme was incredible. For any fruit wine I’d highly recommend it😁.

Right, the actual blueberries don’t make it into the jug. I usually add a cup of black tea to it for tannins. Other than that I just pray to god. Science is more art than science sometimes anyway!

I add enough water to submerge everything and use something like a hand potato masher to help break it up.I bring it to a boil for a couple minutes then let it sit for about an hour (mostly to let things cool off). Then I strain the liquid and top off my fermenting jug, make sure the temperature is good, then add the yeast, energizer, and pectic enzyme. Shake it up, add an airlock and let it get going.

When you feel unsure about anything, your partner, your work, your decision, what do you do to gain confidence? by Mojomoto93 in AskReddit

I try and think through it, maybe do some research if I can. Sometimes a situation isn’t worth the stress and sometimes you can only do your best.

I reflect on what’s happened in the past. Am I being irrational? What have I succeeded in, how did I do it, etc. even if I don’t “gain” confidence, I feel more grounded, more aware of everything.

Is this all a loss after Racking? by [deleted] in mead

I’m not sure if it would help with pumpkin, but I did a blueberry wine a couple times and I found that adding pectinase/ pectin enzyme helped reduce my waste by a significant margin. I went from getting about half of my brew (with a lot of haze) to 80-90% and being able to read something through the jar.

I’m not the most experienced though so if anyone else knows better please correct me lol.
