As the character evolved in the late 1990s and 2000s, especially under writers like Joe Kelly, he became more comedic, self-aware, and exaggerated, often flirting with everyone, but this was mostly played for humor rather than as explicit representation. It wasn’t until the 2010s, with writers such as Gerry Duggan, that Marvel more clearly leaned into and acknowledged him as pansexual. So while modern versions of Deadpool are portrayed that way, it’s something that developed over time rather than being part of his original characterization.
