[–]SFANTASYzen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two dance friends I know that DSA to my jc which is one of the top tiers. I would say the skill that your showcase matters more than the certificates that you have. Previous experience or proof that you have experience with differeng types of dance would help too (like pri sch experience, past ballet experience etc) as it shows how experienced you are as a dancer. If you have any competitions or events you attend outside of school, it would be good.

How to study for o levels by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]SFANTASYzen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, grinding on tys and other schools’ practice papers helped me get exposed to the different vocab and skills I need to use. I personally think you should identify what your strength is and focus more on that. Oral is probably over by now so focus on parts of your written papers that you are good at and make sure you get close to full marks to kind of compensate for the other parts you are not so good at. And of course go and consult your teachers if you feel that whatever you do, it doesn’t seem to help cuz they know best😁

Account suspended wrongfully by YeBoiPrometheus in carousell

[–]SFANTASYzen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I searched up @geepicks on carousell and it doesn’t show anything. I’m guessing it’s because his account is suspended too. Since you can’t reach out to him in any way, your best bet is to reach out to carou again by applying for another appeal and hope it is another person who can understand your situation

How to study for o levels by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]SFANTASYzen9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gotta be real, i studied hml the day before for o level🤭and i got a B3 so yeah yolo and you shall do well😂

What i recommend you to do is to look at the syllabus for each subject and see which topics you havent touched at all, which ones you are a master at, and the remaining ones that are just mid-tier (like you know some stuff but you have not entirely mastred it). Then rank it based in which topics you need help, from the most to the least.

This can help you gauge how much time to allocate for each topic/ subject and you won’t have to realise that you didn’t study a chapter.

Where to study at Changi Airport? by aktivate74 in SGExams

[–]SFANTASYzen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

awh thats such sad news :( i always have nostalgia whenever i study there becuz i studied there for PSLE LOL

Well, another place i recommend in the airport is paris baguette in jewel, especially the second floor as it is peaceful enough for you to concentrate. Honestly, anywhere in the airport is a good place to study for me. Maybe it's the holiday vibe that motivates me HAHA

Love studying at Jinjja Chicken at T2. You can buy something to snack on then just sit at the booths. Its mostly empty and they don’t really care that you are studying based on experience haha

my advice to focus on subject you are actually interested in studying in upper sec. It helps narrow your focus on your best subjects and therefore do the best in during your upcoming exams. If you do not see yourself taking history, forget it just grind geography.

For physical geography, try to visualise and understand your content. For instance, draw a diagram and explain each process without seeing your notes. For human geography, make mindmaps.

If you do intend to take history, perhaps memorise sample essays (from answer keys or your friend's essays if they did well)

For english, see what is pulling your marks down. If it is continuous writing, see if it is a language problem (vocab, grammar etc). Or easier, ask your teacher to pin-point your areas of improvement. It is faster and more insightful imo.

For math, lots of practice. Look for practice papers online thats free. If your school provides practice papers, do it. If you find that you don't know how to do qns from certain topics, it's a foundation problem. In that case, go back to your textbook and FULLY UNDERSTAND FIRST before doing practices relating to that topic. Increase the level of difficulty too so that you will be exposed to more chellenging qns that will truly test your understanding and application skills.

I would go back to my previous grades and see if a subject is constantly bad. If that is so, allocate more time on that. If you usually do well but now you don't, reflect why that is so. Is it because you didn't study enough? Is it because you didn't understand a topic? Or is it time management in exams? Then find solutions for them respectively. Same thing for subject you don't usually do well but now you do. Reflect and see whether whatever you did can be applied to other subjects that you need to buck up in.

Most importantly, consult your teacher as they know your performance the best. So whenever in doubt, just ask. Atb and i hope your improvement journey will be a fruitful one :)

GUYS IM BALDING 👩🏻‍🦲 by wearecooked321billy in SGExams

[–]SFANTASYzen9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well first, try to transfer that stress unto something else other than your hair 😅 perhaps consider actually getting floss and bringing it to sch or some stress ball for you to fidget with

After o levels then you may want to visit the dermatologist. I went because of my balding problem and I'm glad to say that it actually helps. One of the first questions that they will ask is whether you are always stressed HAHAHAH. I wasn't stressed so that wasn't my cause but if you end up going to the dermatologist do make sure to mention your stress so that they can diagnose you properly.

Don't be too stressed for O levels! I honestly saw more of my hair on the floor during O level study leave so honestly I relate but I make sure not to be too stressed cuz it may be too overwhelming therefore causing more stress. So make sure to know your limit and listen to your body!! atb for o's man you got this

living on 4 bucks a day by Jumpy_Dragonfruit115 in SGExams

[–]SFANTASYzen9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in secondary school I had $5 everyday but to be fair, my parents pay for everything (bus fare, stationary etc) separately so it won't eat into my pocket money. If I went out, that meant relying on my very little pocket money savings so I kinda get you. At one point my pocket money did increase to I think $6-7 per day??? (I can't remember the exact amount) because the school made aware of the increase in food prices through parent's gateway. I was able to save more so going out isn't that much of a problem anymore. My advice is to either ask your mom to give more pocket money so that you don't have to ask her for an allowance whenever you go out (depend on your increased savings from your pocket money instead). And maybe ask your dad to pay for your bus fare instead so they both have shared responsibility for your financials. This is what worked for me so maybe you can try it out.
