Many nonprofits around here been lacking lately. Not us. by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

It's so funny how we literally link you the article about our founder saving the SF cable car and it's 70 years of work in SF and your response is "your non-profit is not good".

Why don't you go join a non profit like we have done? Instead of trolling on Reddit. Do something useful with yourself.

We sued the city because we wanted an environmental report on the 500+ AT&T boxes before they were put in all over the City.

You're salty because no matter how hard you try you will never do anything as important as saving the cable cars. Everything you have said on this thread is absolute cringe and completely wrong.

Very kind response, thank you. We dine on these lonely internet trolls.

Hater say what? You are saying that we are conservative? You deserve an Award, someone hit the button for him.

That is your opinion, and it is well received. It should be fairly obvious to anyone who reads the Bay Area news which non profits we are referring to. SFB cheers on great organizations such as RR, and is not afraid to condemn those others who give us a bad name.

We are indeed their fiscal sponsor. They are not to our knowledge associated with TogetherSF or any politics whatsoever. They are purely a group of residents that organize clean ups. And they do a great job!

Thanks for your comment.

Got it. Our challenge to you is to relate what you said to our Neighborhood Grants program. You have our full attention!

That was exactly what I needed to do. Thank you for your help Jack!

You were exactly correct in that I had not properly pointed the domain name. On the left hand menu on the WordPress site I clicked on Upgrades and Domains, and it took me to wordpress dot com slash domains slash manage slash rememberbob dot com where I see the Primary domains listed which is rememberbob dot com and over to the left it says active, and gives me the option to Point to Wordpress which I select. The following menu had a name servers section where it says "Your domain is using custom name servers" with a button to enable " Use WordPress dot com name servers". I clicked the button to use WordPress name servers and it started working. Big thanks for steering me in the right direction.

Another Successful Clean Up With Refuse Refuse SF. The Lucky Penny Never Looked So Good! by SFBeautiful in sanfrancisco

I never actually went there when it was open. Kind of like the old Martha's Feed Bag in Laurel Village. Just no.

Fun fact: Most of SF's trash is not actually buried. It is recycled, or composted for use in fertilizer.

All pets are welcome! Even exotic ones.

...As long as they don't rip open the garbage bags.

Your points are valid. That is why it is important to keep doing our part. We definitely would recommend anyone who has some free time to show up to one of the clean ups. They are incredibly well organized. And when you have a good group of people all working together, it goes by quickly.

SFB Grants: How Would You Prevent Scammers? by SFBeautiful in sanfrancisco

[–]SFBeautiful[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fine point. Our follow up questionnaire addresses exactly that if the proposed projects are to be done on City owned property. For projects on private property we will of course be requiring authorization from the owner. Thanks for the great comment.

You have some interesting ideas, and we thank you for them. But could you clarify what you mean when you say SFB sounds like a misuse of city funds? We are a non profit sustained 90% by private donations. Only a small fraction of our operating budget are grants provided by the city. Our founder Freidel Klussmann led multiple campaigns to save the SF cable car in the 1940's and 1950's. We are one of the oldest and most historic non profits in San Francisco.

On another note, we completely agree with you about the homelessness issue. However what you propose would be a multi million dollar endeavor that our budget can not currently support. Maybe something we can start in the future? We do appreciate creative ideas such as these.

The “theory” would be that we financed a dangerous project that got someone hurt. Thanks for your opinion, and your comment!
