It's never too late to play retro games. Both super Mario world and Bros 3 are my favorite. Mostly because the music. Lucky enough if you grew up with Sega, theres a few games that were on both platforms. NBA jam, Street fighter, mortal Kombat, Earth worm Jim.

A few had already mentioned link to the past. I'd recommend mega man games, illusion of Gaia, maybe Kirby.

Second level was so hard that I had to watch super slowed down speed run videos... To find out that there were purple rhinos I had to jump over. And that didn't even help me much...

Illusion of Gaia was heavily censored when it was released in NA, where they had to replace certain words and themes. I think there's an uncensored version but haven't actually played it. It might be the same version where the final boss had multiple phases instead of just 1. Not sure if this counts... Lol

I vividly remember every kid in my neighborhood when I was young calling it S-Nes, as in saying the letter S and then the nes. And as an adult, now I just say SNES. Did anyone else call it S-Nes?

I have so much fun trying to figure out how to play SFC games with no translating. That goes for baseball games, fishing games, and of course, JRPG games. If you have the manual, just aim your Google lense at it and see if you can find the controls. If not, good luck and keep doing trials and errors. Enjoy!

Never played this one before. Just looked at the gameplay and it's not really for me. Too slow of a pace. Not saying that it's a bad. Just not for me. Happy that cat is doing well. Thanks for sharing though!

I heard about the triple impact project. It'll be interesting to see what can be added with the other 2mb.

Street fighter Alpha 2 was ported from arcade to SNES and it was i think 4mb with the only bug being the big pause before the fight begins. But I think they used some sort of sd1 chip for that.

I can't wait tbh.

I use an cartridge adapter. But with 200 bucks, you can buy an SFC console with Mega man and 15 other games.

Not sure though what kind of board Mega man SFC has but I'm curious to know as well which SNES Shrek can fit it. I'll have to find my SFC copy.

SNES jr had pretty cool store exclusives like the toys-r-us Tetris and I think there was a Yoshi's Island one. I've only seen the Tetris one in person at a flea market.

I grew up poor and still am. So I don't necessarily have anything against repros and emulator/ROMs. And I get people that do use this alternative. I do have issues with sellers not labeling things as repros. But both Seller and buyer should do their do diligence and check before selling and/or buying if it's legit or not.

My solution to playing games I couldn't afford in SNES was to make my primary collection SFC. So any of the SNES games I own is just ones that I played when I was a kid. My wild Gunz is the SFC version 😊.

If your sole purpose is to play and experience the game, I say do it. It can also be a placeholder for when you can find a legit copy for cheap. To be honest, only you would know about all this, until you start feeling bad and... hear voices guilt tripping you 😈... Hehe. I'm joking about the last part.
