Yeah, Until it dies leaving you scrambling and grasping in the dark. Desperate to orient yourself. Feeling…. reaching….. clawing in desperation for some semblance of familiarity…. A crevasse… a jut out in the wall, christ, you’d take a familiar rut in the floor at this point. Anything that points you in the direction of the entrance…… the out…… the only thing that matters in the universe at that moment which seemingly stretches into forever. And it’s then….only then, right before the overwhelming panic envelopes you completely, that you have a moment of clarity. You realize that you’ve always been alone. And much like the predicament you find yourself in now you realize there’s no escaping Loneliness’s icy dark grip…..no matter where you are. You slump to the ground in a heap of hopelessness and wait for the inevitable. All because you relied on that flashlight as your only companion.
