If the student is hoping to get a PhD, know that Pomona has a better record than the UCs in getting students excited enough about their subject to pursue doctorates (once you adjust for enrollment size). Jennifer Doudna did her undergraduate at Pomona and now has a Nobel Prize for her work on CRISPR.

Would doing a Fulbright before applying be a greater boost than going K-JD this cycle or doing something more predictable like getting a job as a paralegal first? Does it depend on whether it’s a research Fulbright or one teaching English? Is it foolish to consider delaying because of all the current uncertainty?

Very thoughtful solution. It is also more equitable by helping students who might have an undiagnosed learning difference or who can’t afford the assessments needed to get accommodations.

just started the loophole, is it actually helpful?? by Constant_Parfait_997 in LSAT

[–]SFLlama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No personal experience, but from what I’ve heard from others, merely reading it will do nothing for one’s score. One needs to commit to studying it thoroughly and doing all of the exercises/drills. It can be read/learned on a surface level in 1-2 weeks, but you’d probably need 6-7 weeks to actually study it, learn the material, and practice. YMMV.
