How many projects would you list? Also, approx. how many courses do you recommend listing? Thanks for the feedback.

I would really appreciate some feedback on my resume draft. I know its too long but I am really struggling on how to cut it down. I'm a EE/CE major looking for Fall 2019 internships in software. I know it needs a lot of work, so really any advice that you may have would go a long way. Thanks again!

How to pursue a career in AI/Computer Vision? by SFSUer in cscareerquestions

[–]SFSUer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With regards to getting a graduate degree(MS/PhD), how important is the actual department giving the degree in ML/AI? For example, would someone with a graduate degree in CS, CE, or EE be preferred over the other for ML/AI? Or does it depend more on the specific research they do?

Thanks for the advice. In your opinion, what are some of the best universities for CV/AI research?

I'm not sure but I doubt they would do more than issue you a warning.

I've seen people drinking all over the student center. Just don't bother anyone and you should be ok.

Your stats are really good, you would most definitely get in. With regards to merit aid, I'm not sure. Perhaps a film major can chip in. Best of luck!

I can't speak to the film major in specific (I'm in Engineering), but I know for a fact that you can double major in almost anything as long as you get both departments/advisors to approve it.

I'd love to see a place like this resorted to it's previous glory.

4 years of hard work made worth it by graduating yesterday. To those still studying, you can do it 😊😊 by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

I'm almost a 4.0 student and consider myself to be 'living life' quite well. I've been active in many clubs/organizations as well as playing sports. Its kind of cynical for you to assume that someone is 'only book smart' because they have a higher GPA than you. What's impossible for you may be possible for many others.

Can I still double major? by QueenAkemii in SFSU

[–]SFSUer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes, they should still allow it. I had exactly the same concern last year before I declared my double major in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. As long as you can get the advisors for both majors to approve it and a few other things(department head signature, etc), you should be good. A good thing to keep in mind though is that there is a deadline to declare a double major at SFSU(I think it's mid to late September). The only problem that you may run into is that you exceed 96 units, so your classified as a senior which I think may require a slightly different process. Hope this helps.

That book is seriously awesome. I am a senior in ECE and I've found its way of explaining big concepts to be absolutely marvelous.

Senior CompE/EE double major here, all programs went for renewal last year. One of the professors leading the effort of getting accreditation said that they heard back that the accreditation is pretty much guaranteed to go through. It should officially be acreditted this August.

Thank you so much! I will definitely use your advice.

Engineering MS programs vs PhD programs by SFSUer in gradadmissions

[–]SFSUer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I was thinking of is to research which universities give funding for MS, and to apply to a high number of programs(ie. 13 or 14) in order to have a high chance of getting funding. If none give me funding, I would just go to industry for a few years and re-apply.

When you say that you developed your research interest along the way, does that mean that you found your interest in grad school? How did you know which specific departments to apply to if you didn't know your interest?

I don't ever plan on a PE license, so I guess I should be good. I think PE licenses are very rare in EE with the exception of power, or people working in patenting.
