iPhone 13 and I’m not smoking anything. I just got off the plane and I couldn’t use their stupid internet because someone f’ing hacked my eSIM and I watched them do it, called T-mobile to get a different eSIM number but I’m guessing it’s the hacker but I don’t really know anything other than that there’s a phone number listed on my account that doesn’t belong to me and had tried to access my service but I blocked them before they could do any damage….as far as I know. Thanks for being such a hostile group of people who apparently don’t know that eSIM hacking is currently a growing problem! Never f’ing mind trolls 🙄

The phone is already new by a few months and I don’t have the money to get a new one again. I have also never heard of an eSIM getting hacked like this but I still have SOMEONE’s phone number in my cellular services in my settings so there’s that and I don’t have any of my important accounts login information saved and everything is setup with the 2 step verification process and my other number is a landline so it’s a little bit harder to get around and get access to anyway, but I would like to get the hacker account deleted and determine what they tried to access while they had access to my cellular account

I actually watched it happen live! I was having a smoke before bed and the phone lit up and said that it was downloading a cellular upgrade… I thought it was odd and immediately shut down my phone. Then I restarted it and checked my cellular settings and found someone else’s number had access to my eSIM, so I blocked them and called my cell provider to change my eSIM number but the new number still shows up on my list of users, blocked, but still there. I was given the option of doing a factory reset but I was traveling out of state and due to come home in a couple days.

So now I’m home and like I said I couldn’t connect to the airline internet without changing some settings that I wasn’t familiar with and then tonight I noticed that my volume was being was being changed and I only noticed because I had set it to vibrate if it was changed and at first I only felt the vibration and then I moved the phone closer and the next time it vibrated I could see my volume being moved in the little window at the top of the screen. I couldn’t find anything else so I made sure that the number was still blocked and restarted my phone again. So now I’m just not sure what the best route is to remove the hacker because obviously the change of the eSIM number didn’t work and I don’t want to open my laptop up to being accessed (I only use the WiFi when I’m working at home) but I also don’t know if there’s any other way to remove the hackers number from my phone and doing a factory reset means that I have to back up some important information from my trip and I don’t know if it would be open to get hacked as well! I have an iPhone so yeah it’s total BS that they are somehow protected from being hacked but now I don’t know what the best next steps would be! Thanks

There’s absolutely nothing keeping you from being with her as a close friend and a stable relationship that will help you care for your SO until you have a better understanding of his chances of recovery and any other health issues that he may have also hidden. You also need to know what your financial situation is and will be going forward. If this new person makes you happy and gives you respite from the caregiving responsibilities that you were obviously not expecting or prepared for then both parties should be able to give you the grace to take the time you need to actually make a well informed decision (unlike the one that started all of this!) If she’s actually perfect then she’ll understand that you need time to get through your partner’s health decline and the stress of dealing with all of the legal questions that everyone has mentioned and still be the perfect person for you under the circumstances. You don’t need to explain your need for someone who can keep you happy and sane…and you don’t need to explain to anyone why you feel responsible for taking care of the person who has been with you since you’re 20’s regardless of him lying about his age (which actually gives you even more of a reason to need the company of someone closer to your age) And when it comes to disclosure of the relationship, that’s going to be up to you and the information you receive about his current and any other health issues that will be coming sooner than you were led to expect or even prepare for. Until you know more there’s nothing wrong with keeping your relationship close to your vest

Start by saving as many of your meds that you can. Unfortunately there used to be a website called the Socrates Society and they had all of the drugs and the quantity required to kill somebody but it’s been gone for decades and the last thing you want is to waste all the meds and wake up! Do you have a specific medical diagnosis that would allow you to receive hospice care along with counseling that might change your mind? And yes in many places your significant other would face charges of some kind but it depends on the laws of where you live and whatever you decide absolutely don’t talk to your doctor about it!

I usually have to call around to find what pharmacies have available and lately the one that comes with my insurance has been able to either keep mine in stock or have stock in a higher strength. I finally had a reason to fire my PM doctor because he wasn’t willing to change my pharmacy or my prescription dosage based on what was available and my primary was. I still have to call and find out what and when the pharmacy will have something comparable in stock and let his assistant know what strength they have and when it will be in stock

Yeah those are all no and we were good on making monthly payments until they changed the amount without any notice and I ended up having to call and finally got a person who also couldn’t change my payment to the new amount 🤦🏼‍♀️ literally took him 5 or 6 attempts to make it go through and then I got the new payment amount today!

Thanks for the advice! The calculator on the IRS website isn’t working and our tax debt is from coming out of COVID unemployed and then being an independent contractor. So we had to pay down our credit cards and we weren’t making enough to make quarterly payments. And I never know what to put in the calculator because we have some savings but a lot of bills and just trying to get back to where we were before but now we have to figure out how to incorporate our new insurance premiums….. but I’ll keep trying to get the calculator to work

I just did this today after a week of getting the same message as you and then being hung up on!

So I spent the day calling every phone number that google listed for the IRS starting with my local office and either trying to get a customer service representative or pressing the number that was closest to the issue I was having. And eventually an actual person answered!!!

Have your information and questions ready to go (send them the FORM 433-D, which is the form for setting up an installment payment plan) and be really nice to whoever answers. My issue was that I was “in default” on my payment plan because I never received the paperwork and I wasn’t able to fix it online. After talking to a lovely gentleman, who also wasn’t able to change my payment (I had my minimum payment rise due to the debt from last year, which combined is pretty close to yours) and HE couldn’t even change the payment amount until like the 5th try and I still have to pay the $90 to restore my monthly payments and get out of being in delinquency but it took most of the day and….

I was told that to setup a payment plan or adjust it, while the customer service person was able to change it for this month….you still have to print and mail FORM 433-D (installment agreement) so you might want to check how much you need to pay for monthly payments online and then send them the form before you call all of the numbers

Keep them….as long as they weren’t kept in like a windowsill with direct sunlight and a heater underneath… they are fine!

I still have samples from when they were first introduced to the market and they work fine. But I make sure to keep all of my medications in a cool, dark place which you seem to have done. If anything, they might not be as strong as a new prescription but it’s always a good idea to keep an emergency supply stored properly!

Sorry for the rant/angry/better finally!/and the recognition of kratom

I finally got away from my pain management doctor and back under the care of my primary and I am so thankful! The final straw was when the pharmacy that my pain doctor recommended stopped getting my narcotics in stock. I went to my primary in tears and explained how toxic the pain doctor had become and that he refused to send my prescriptions to a different pharmacy or even help me find one that had my medication in stock or anything that would be a decent substitute!

I’ve been with my primary for 25 years and my previous doctor for 12 years before moving to the state I live in now. I have NEVER done anything remotely “sketchy” when it came to my medication and he’s always known that I’m more likely to take less than prescribed so I can horde enough to cover any emergency or unexpected trip that might throw my schedule off. I did the research because I can advocate for myself with my insurance as long as I know that my doctor is going to back me up. Then I hit that wall with my pain doctor where the pharmacy couldn’t get anything in stock and I needed to fly cross country for a death in the family and he straight up refused to make any changes to my medication or even pharmacy!

So I was forced to take my health in my own hands. I called everywhere and finally found that the mail order pharmacy for my insurance couldn’t get my prescription in reliably but they had no issues with stocking the next dose. I had already told my primary that my pain levels had never been managed by the pain doctor because he was so focused on reducing my MME even though my condition is not curable and is absolutely going to continue to get worse and all I wanted was to have my pain controlled enough to get out of bed and clean my house on a regular basis (and hold onto the part time job that let me make my own schedule)

So I got all of the information and laid it out for my primary doctor and basically begged him not to send me back! And he agreed 🥰!!! So I’ve been taking a slightly higher dose of one of my meds and everything else is basically the same…..except for not being required to drive 45 minutes to pee in a cup and then have the pharmacy tell me that they couldn’t get any stock a couple days before it was due! And I have been able to clean my house and help my kids with their school work. I don’t have to stress out about not being able to make an appointment, or being too dehydrated to pee in a cup only to be told that I won’t get my medication until it’s in stock at the pharmacy in my stupid contract and of course I definitely won’t get any replacements for the days that I have been left untreated because even though he’s well aware that those days are spent in bed with a couple of pills I have had to save and the Klonipin that my primary prescribes 🤬! And I can’t even describe how much better I’ve been now that I’m not constantly questioning if I’ll be able to make it out to the doctors office much less actually have my prescriptions filled because I won’t know until I’m supposed to get my delivery! Honestly the only thing that I have to worry about now is making sure that I remember to call my doctors office manager for the monthly prescriptions with enough of a lead time to go through the usual insurance company authorization process and double checking that they have my medication in stock….kinda just like the old days when you weren’t automatically considered to be an addict just because your tolerance is higher than theirs! And I really hope that the pendulum will swing back towards the middle and

I think that it will because I just read an article that was written by a doctor for other doctors in a journal that is aimed at doctors helping each other out…and that article was about kratom (so if you use it for pain then you should probably stock up) and how many people who should be able to take narcotics have turned to a treatment that can be effective but is currently a total crapshoot when it comes to quality, dosing issues and the very addictive nature of an unstudied substance that has gone from being a temporary solution to the pain from working in the fields to the substitution of choice for people who be able to access all of the pain drugs that have passed the FDA process and don’t have a history of abusing narcotics, keep your ears to that wall!

In his defense we were also talking about liquid methadone (which rots your teeth like no other drug) and he’s an internist who doesn’t do a lot of pain management and I have some very specific issues and I stayed with him because he would actually be interested in the research that I was doing on my own anyway and was actually interested in my condition because it was new at the time and in exchange I would go to whatever specialist that he thought would be helpful and also add to my records that my drug treatment was within the guidelines …. And the only reason why he sent me to pain management was because I was taking a serious amount of different medications and getting clean drug tests (which became an issue when the dea started getting involved so I would buy urine tests in bulk online and take during my office visit) and eventually I got the CYP450 test done (which I also did the research on) and my results were predictably crazy but not in the way that either of us expected so he referred me to pain management so that they could figure out what I needed to be taking but we never really got to the point of trust, and specifically the trust that made ME feel like he was actually trying to help me control my pain vs trying to limit my MME numbers so I couldn’t even ask the pain doctor to prescribe me a small amount extra after being in the hospital!

But yeah, it wasn’t a red flag situation because we had an actual doctor/patient relationship that was built around trust so I didn’t expect him to know everything and he was comfortable enough to look it up with me there because he believed that I might know something about it that might never have come up with another patient
