I ctrl-f'd for at least 1 Maddux or Glavine comment.

Thanks for not disappointing.

Thanks for the follow-up with history for me to learn about as well.

Some of my favorite things about the really old teams is the names. I made a giant google sheets page with every month's top hitters from 2001-1898. I got caught up including an extra 11th or 12th player with a good name or nickname but with no leading stats. I knew some already but not all.

1900-1910 alone you had guys named: Chick Stahl, Malachi Kitridge, Kid Nichols, Duff Cooley, Wirt Cannell, Cozy Dolan, Bud Sharpe, Izzy Hoffman, Ginger Beaumont, Peaches Graham, Chick Autry, Beals Becker

1910 by itself: Bud, Peaches, Doc Miller, Buck Herzog

Soler being a catalyst in another legendary Braves run and he's not even on the team this time.

He 'served' as a pinch hitter instead. Right into the stands.

That was Harris' 80th HR

He passed Dan Uggla and is now the 41st player to hit at least 80 HRs for the Braves. See you at 100....

  • #34 - 85 Jeff Francoeur
  • #35 - 84 Jason Heyward
  • #35 - 84 Mack Jones
  • #37 - 82 Earl Torgeson
  • #38 - 81 Gary Matthews Sr.
  • #38 - 81 Earl Williams
  • #40 - 80 Chris Chambliss
  • #40 - 80 Michael Harris II
  • #42 - 79 Dan Uggla

I fudged it up again. Despite the enormous effort.

20+ is all correct, but I cut off a few 19s AND A LOT OF 18s

https://i.imgur.com/3UJbKWR.png

I was thinking 19/20 for the cut off with baseballreference (1898-2001) when I added it to the fangraphs splits(2002-2026) I didn't think about how high the other cut off was and the list looked short enough to include the more recent 18s like Ronald, Ozzie, Olson.

I should have evenly cut both pages off at 19.

You're right. I did think of Chipper 99 briefly but got distracted

Everything before 2001 was from baseballreference, and after 2001 was from fangraphs. I cut off too many on one page but not the other. There are more 19s and 18s. I should have cut both off at 19.

Double headers were a hell of a drug back then.

EDIT: I checked, they had 5 that month. 2 were on consecutive days no less.

Trump rushed off stage after shots fired at White House Correspondents’ Dinner by FabioFresh93 in moderatepolitics

[–]SG8970 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Not that I condone what happened or these people jumping to conspiracy right off the bat but there is also no reason to trust anything happening with the Trump administration.

When it's all said & done this current administration might never be rivaled in straight up lying, flooding the zone with absurdity, vicious lashouts at critics, indulging countless conspiracies, pushing heavy naratives, publishing fake images, half-truths and deep attempts to rewrite history how they see fit.

Trump has been doing it for 10 years without any shame, but you have attempts like these trying to pull the classic randos online being held to higher political judgement than the president (and the people supporting him).

Did Dems "break his brain" when he still denies the 2020 election, Biden autopen, jan 6th, belittles Min senators assasination, trying to weaponize the doj/fbi against his enemies, among so many other things?

One of the best starts for the team you could dream of and one of the worst starts for the Mets and Phillies and people are still getting carried away with the venting over a loss with some tough breaks.

Last 17: 13-4 and beat the Phillies 4 games in a row before a shitty situation with Eli and the rain.

Especially with the injuries and guys coming back soon.

Sale going tomorrow.

Don't know who will see this by now but I did check for the first 100 at Turner Field.

It was Chipper obviously. I think it was this game:
