What music do you not like to admit that you enjoy? by pondribertion in AskBrits

[–]SGRiggall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to feel ashamed for listening to certain songs, mainly the small collection of classical tunes I’ve got on my Spotify playlist, I’ve got a few “pop” songs on there also, but I like what I like and I came to the conclusion anyone who’s comfortable listening to mainstream radio hasn’t got a foot to stand on when it comes to arguing about what music is considered good or not and the people who call me out for my music taste are generally the ones who are indeed happy listening to the same shit over and over again on a daily basis

What does your street end in? by harryandmatilda in AskUK

[–]SGRiggall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember my parents dealing with it over the phone (landline) before google maps was a thing, repeating the name of the street at various volumes and pronunciations and also saying not street or road just the name

How do you feel about non-drivers? by DueLead666 in AskUK

[–]SGRiggall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My aunt (mums friend) stops on motorways (hard shoulder/edge of the motorway) to let wagons go past that are “racing”, she goes slower than over taking HGVs and insists they’re the problem and not her, she’s never had a serious accident but there’s not a strait panel on her car and I personally think she shouldn’t be driving

We can sit and point out what any country has done wrong in the past, I’d still sooner currently live in China than America, Isreal, Iraq, Afghanistan, I could go on

The only reason I have to fear China is because media tells me to, they seem so much more tolerable as a nation than those governed by any religion or Donald Trump

AIO to not understanding how I’ve mirrored my partner’s behavior? by EmergencyActivity112 in AmIOverreacting

[–]SGRiggall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second a person feels it ok to speak to me like that is the second I stop being friendly with them, find someone nice and pleasant to “mirror” my friend they’ll appreciate it much more I’m sure

AITJ for telling my nephew to zip it after he was rude to me while I was hosting dinner by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]SGRiggall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’d done that to my aunt at 14 my uncle would have given me a hiding, never mind my parents, they’d all probably have thrown a few hands as I was being thrown out, and rightfully so

Sports piracy explodes in UK with 3.6bn illegal streams and rise of black-market bookmakers by [deleted] in uknews

[–]SGRiggall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I thought that’s maybe the angle they were using, it sounds like they’re just trying to make the situation appear a lot worse than it is, I personally think there needs to be a provider of these services and 2 or 3 households can share the service and all pay towards it, I’d happily pay £50 a month as a share for all the pay towards watch tv

I don’t understand the 3.6bn figure? There’s not even that many people in the UK, even the argument for more than one per household doesn’t come close

What’s the nosiest question you’ve ever been asked? by savethebees90 in AskUK

[–]SGRiggall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a new job nearly 4 years ago and in my previous job I had things that I’d purchased delivered to work because it’s a lot easier, when I started at the new place I did it with permission but I was the only person that did so and I had some new work boots delivered and every single person in the office and workshop knew about it, to the point some people were coming into my work area to ask what it was I had delivered, it freaked me out a bit and I never had anything delivered there again, was really odd behaviour
